According to the Bible, man was created in God's image. As such, we have an immortal soul as imparted by God. So, the question lies in the following:

- would clones or artificial sentient life have a soul, since they are created by man and not by God?

- would extra terrestial sentient life have a soul and be considered God's children if they are not created in God's image?

I would be curious to hear from otherw what they thought. I know, it's a Friday afternoon and I'm killing the last hour of work before the weekend starts.

There was a time when my tummy was full and I slept right away. Then I saw my soul separate from my body. All my senses were in the soul, the sense of touch, hearing, seeing, etc. Then I felt myself or soul stare at my dead body. I walked a few feet to the washroom then went back again. Then I realized that I was dead. I twitched my toe, then there I was back at my body. That is what you call in Tagalog or Filipino lexicon, bangungot or dying in your sleep.

Considering that "Cloneing" as well as I understand it, is a process of Chemical Recreation of an existing set of cells, resulting in a being resembling the original, from a chemical process viewpoint, then one would say, No, there is No "Soul" created in the process.
Now, if one adheres to the materialistic veiwpoint of Nietze, then we are all simply material beings, w/o a soul. If one adheres to the Judeao/Christian viewpoint, then by simply being here, from the original line from Adam/Eve to our parents, then we do have an inner being, IE a "soul".
There are endless and probably truthful examples of individuals knowing and percieving their personal souls, thru out of body experiences. Each one has an element of truth and to the experiencer, it is obvious that the "soul" exists.
A definitive answer to all your questions would take a LOT more space than we have and a LOT more time. The question is valid, good, and worthy of discussion.
My Opine:
1. All beings, created, either via the "normal" process or by some scientific process, do have an inner sense of being. The Sentient Part of our atoms, defines the mind and without that, we cannot have a "soul".

Just download the song which goes this way....
"Everytime I see a newborn baby cry/ Or touch a leaf/ or see the sky/ then I know why/ I BELIEVE/.....

God will probably say on the Day of Judgment, "you puny human beings......, to the commies who force the dialectical and historical materialism instead of Hegel's Philosophy of the Right..which is one way of telling ourselves.."we found God"". Marx insists that Hegel's idealism (vis-a-vis materialism)is hallucination of the mind.

The Communist Party of USA has changed its policy towards religion just recently. Now they welcome these topics. But where do I find the flaw? Marx invokes atheism as a state religion. These commies of CPUSA invokes Marxism in every debate and discussion. Marxism is the last word. But Marxism denies the existence of God. They finally realized that the number of followers have dwindled. So they welcome these discussions even appointing a pastor as head of commmittee. Marx is against fatalistic thinking. The Bible justifies these.

The CPUSA's tactic of welcoming religious discusiions is one of the tactics of any communist party to encourage some of their faithful. But like any other communist party, they will abolish religion once they get into power. "Religion is the opium of the people"-Karl Marx."There is no God. God is dead."-Karl Marx.

Does begging and pleading count as foreplay?

Wow...I just read this thing about 4 times and still don't know what the heck I read. Does this address the question or is it just a rant against Godless communists?

Back to the original question. Not sure about the cloning thing but why do you assume that ETs weren't created in God's image? Nothing in Bible limits life created on earth to that created in God's image. It says something creating man in his own image, but it doesn't limit that man on earth. Therefore, if you believe that God created everything, then it is possible that ETs were also created in his image.

I am not going to degrade myself into answering that question. ET is a fantasy movie. There are no ET's in this world. If you're looking for a fight, go to a bar and hit somebody with a beer bottle.

Here is a copy of a poem inserted in a pocket of a slain NPA who in her letter to his son "had intermittent nightmares that caused her to wake up perspiring and sometimes sleep walking". She died in the arms of an AFP who tried all means to revive her.
GULONG LANG ANG PAHINGA (IN ANOTHER SPIRITUAL DIMENSION)

WHIRLING BODY IS THE ONLY REST (Translation)
(Our Nightmarish Dreams Turned Us In And 'It's Fair', Part 2)

when will this ordeal come to expire
when will this double file of women begin to tire
armed with all sorts of weapons and knives
with which to strke me while i'm made to run between their wives
Yes, i have murdered AFP soldiers whose numbers i cannot count
now i encounter an imperishable nightmare in this battlefront
at this spiritual isolated time juncture
the only rest i have was the whirling of my body in its brief tenure
thereafter, i am drowning in a pool of liquefied manure
while i wish that this suffering will reach its comforting detour

Another NPA Lady Amazon in her days of sweatful nightmarish dreams as she related them to me!!'Look at you! You're a mess', as I look into her eyes. 'You cannot even look at me straight in the eye! You're a complete meltdown!!', See You Again Somewhere in Time, an anthology of poems written by Mischa Rodriguez-Santos and father Colonel Domingo Rodriguez, Praetoria

TAKE US WITH YOU, AFP AND US ARMY
(Our Nightmarish Dreams Turned Us In, Part 1)

Nobody cares from among the press if you'll win or lose this war
Everyone either smokes, gossips, colludes or brags that he passed the bar
But you're assured that you'll triumph and carry on hostilities smiling
Because your Good God says in heaven you'll watch your kids sailing
Some of you might not be able to make it and pass away bellyaching
But you're comforted with such heavenly treat, that's why you're laughing
You shall not only win this war but eternally remain at peace
in heaven because you pray to God to whom you lease
your souls, while these bellicose NPAs after death, wake up caught standing
in the crossfire between two warring armies, jumping from their bancas, treading
petrified and driven to lunacy because of collusion, mayhem and phlegm (apathy)
and because joma sison has not ceased killing you by orders on his modem

THOUSANDS OF EX-COMMIES TURNED AFP SPIES IN CPP-NPA Copyright 2000, Colonel Domingo Rodriguez, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)

Not looking for a fight. I wasn't referring to ET the movie. ET was just a short way of referring to life on other planets.

I do like your idea of going to bar...think I'll do that after work today. Big Grin

I don't know anything about this soul business. I don't know if man was created on God's image.

Perhaps man has a soul, perhaps man is the image of God, perhaps man is an angel. If man is an angel, he is a killer angel.
