so yeah its been awhile since i ever wrote on here alot has changed .since i last been on here i was in school now im in the military the thing im deciding on is wheather or not to stay navy or go army or get out since the economy which you already know is in the toilet.i have to make a choice .the military is traihgt dont get me wrong but its depending to much on technology then street smarts i here the storys from old salty doggs and it seems the navy is going to hell in a hand basket trust me i know nothing of the old navy except what i read storys and history shows but even though i never experianced it i wish i did it seems the navy was the **** back in the day now its trying to be so politically correct they took all the fun out of being in the navy and now it feels like hell change of commands are ****ty only in it for themselfs and not helping there fellow airmen the ones who do all the maintence the ones who stand he watches the ones who get tired and sore day in and out making sure those palnes get up in the air the higher in rank you go the less work you do.im only an airmen been in almost two years now and id rather been in the navy when i my uncle was in back in WWII.everything was to me what a sailor was about.but things never stay the same.always changing and i think the navy needs to slow down we are the best navy in the world no body can mess with us and if they did well they messed with the wrong navy.maybe somebody out there can explain to me im young and still have much to learn why is the navy turning out the way it is

I thought James Joyce was dead.

If you want to be taken seriously, please try to use both punctuation and full sentences. It is incredibly difficult to follow this stream-of-consciousness type of posting or your thought pattern.

I have heard about all sorts of mess in the Navy besides for the complete and utter NIGHTMARE they are in when it comes to weapon procurement, ship building, and in some cases R&D work. Hell look what happened to the DDG-1000 program, not to mention LCS.

I have heard talk of "ethnically divided" shops and sections on carriers where you won't get service if your not (insert ethnic group here), gangs, and all sorts of other things wrong even at the lowest levels of the chain of command.

After serving for 8 years and 3 carriers, Those are false rumors about the gangs and crap, I never had any problem as a airwing guy getting anything on the boat, everyone is always working or sleeping so not alot of free time for the juvenile crap, far as the Navy changing, you better believe it, it was great when i first enlisted, but after 8 years , it wasn't the navy anymore, tattoos where frowned upon and drinking was discouraged, and if you where not a female, you can forget about getting any good spots on the watch bill. plus now with the book nerds in charge, and not knowing anything about how your job goes, they just expect crap to run like the book says, even though the book was written by someone who had no idea what your job was either. do your time and get out. Not worth the trouble anymore, until common sense comes back to the world.
