Hello!
When will they release the quotas for Chief? When does the board finish up? Thanks.

Quotas usually come out right around the time to board convenes.

According to the FY09 Board Application, the dates for the E7 Board are 23 JUN - 25 JUL 2008.

That is generally correct. Normally the quotas are not released until after the board is seated and begins their review, and on rare occasions have been revised after the board convened.

Here's something to chew on:

The board is under no obligation to fill all the quotas. If there are 50 candidated for 30 quotas and only 10 candidates are considered qualified then the other 20 quotas will be left vacant. If there is a Sailor that was board eligible in a rating that had unfilled quotas then he/she has some hard thinking to do regarding their career.

Good luck.

Alright, I need to pick someone's brain, if that is at all possible. For reasons I do not want to go into, I am not as up on my info as I normally have been in past years.

Quota for ATI is 47. Does anyone know what that equals as far as a percentage?

TIA

ATwife,
The only way to convert to percentage is to know happen are eligible for ATI. Sometimes you can pull this info off the bupers website but I think it is now all done through individual accounts on BOL.

Laura,

Per the Navy Advancement website, 254 active duty Sailors were Selection Board Eligible for ATIC. This would equate to a selection rate of about 18.5%.

I hope this helps!

Log on to the Navy Advancement Site. I assume you do not need the link -- since it says not to bookmark it, I just google it when needed.

From the main menu, click on "Exam Statistics by Rate" You will get a pop up window/new tab. In this tab, you can select the cycle you're looking for and see the pass/fail/SBE/discrepancy information.

If this does not make sense, please just let me know and I'll try to clarify!

I had looked there, but upon looking again I realize I was an idiot and looked at the wrong exam cycle (it would help if they had been listed in date order). Thank you!

17.1% for EMNC...

Thanks Seabee and congrats to you!

Catherine, we can do Chief's watch together this year. {SIGH}

Most of the people I have done it with the past couple of years have already made it. I am hopeful for my DH for this year and am keeping my fingers crossed for my friends who are still waiting!

Good luck to you and yours!

If the board for the active component just convened, figure around the end of July for results to be posted.

Word on the street where I'm at is Aug 3rd....but every year it's the same debate. For once this year, I'm not sweating it. "Que sera, sera" and such.

Last year, results came out on the 10th of August. I only remember cause it was the same day that the movers were loading our truck. We knew 4 hours before we heard from anyone at the command that DH had not made it.

Hopefully it will be this year. He so deserves it.

Yep, last year was a nightmare, and all the rumors didn't help at all. I remember the CPO's were ancy too, in order to get the full 6 wks of induction in.
good luck to your DH.

USS Constitution CPO Heritage Training NAVADMIN

I have found this yearly message to be a fairly reliable indicator of when the board results will be out by. Notice the following excerpt from the above NAVADMIN (para 3):

SUBMIT NOMINATIONS FOR CPO MENTORS NO LATER THAN 18 JULY, NOMINATIONS FOR RESERVE CPO SELECTS NO LATER THAN 25 JULY, NOMINATIONS FOR ACTIVE CPO SELECTS NO LATER THAN 12 AUGUST 2008.

You probably mean adjourned. Board has been in session for some time now.

As to when the results come out, I know it's hard but you'll just have to be patient.

Last year I saw my results on BOL before the command even got official word. I've been checking my BOL account like every hour for the past few days, it's hard not to.

It's like waiting for Christmas. The more you think about it, the longer it will take...you've probably got plenty to keep you busy at work anyway, almost makes you wonder, how much work DOESN'T get done while all the Chief's and new selects are off galavanting around, I remember last year, I thought my LCPO died when Chief induction was going on. I guess that's the time of year the next in line first class really gets his metal tested haha.

turn the computer off, go have a beer, and the results will come before you know it ;-)

At least the rumors aren't flying around as bad this year as they were last year. So far I have only heard two, this Friday and next Thursday. I've still checked BOL about 8 times today, can't help it.

There are a lot of rumors floating around on the Navy Advancement forum. That board is a lot busier than this one though. So far I have heard tomorrow, Friday or Monday as possible dates. LOL
