For the past several years there has been access to free online tax preparation software at Military.com. I have searched the site and have not seen such an offering for the 2007 tax year. Is there any plan for such an offering from TURBOTAX or TAXCUT for this tax year?

IRS offers free filing to service members with adjusted gross incomes of $54,000 (or less).

http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html

"Deleted" offers active duty members free service for those with adjucted gross incomes of under $52,000.

There are many providers who do not charge anything, no matter what your income.
"Deleted" is one of those programs.

I do not know that Military.com has any program included in this forum. However, I'd suggest you just do a search under FREE INCOME TAX FILING from any search engine. There you'll find the offerings of IRS and many other resources. Some charge a fee for filing your state return. Some do not!!!=")

Good Luck!!!=Smile

The "Discounted" Federal Turbo Tax at $22 with "Free" filings. with a state charge of $32.95, and you have to pay I think like $20 to file state taxes, IS MORE EXPENSIVE, then most any other place by a minimum of $5 cheaper or up to $20 cheaper. Turbo tax Federal, with state software and 5 free federal filings is $55 through Military.com discount. You can get through the company Intuit for about $1 more then what OUR DISCOUNT price is. You can get Fed,state and fed e file at best buy with no mailin rebates for $49.95. you can get the same thing at office max for $49.99 plus a bunch of other software products either free or about 5 to 9 bucks. I got mine at office depot, paid up front $49.99 and got a mail in rebate for $10 more, plus up18 product free. I got one to teach my son spanish free, one called webeasy 7 if you need to build and maintain a website or numerous other ones. FREE of course after office deport mail in rebate but the office depot mailin rebates are pretty good because you get the form right with your checkout and I have never had a problem getting a rebate back from them, that is unless I get lazy and forget and miss a cut off date and all of them are at least a month out or more. So just remember a discount is not always a discount.
