I know that when wearing a dress uniform, the CG must wear a v neck instead of a crew neck t-shirt (like other armed services). Is there any restrictions on how tight the tshirt can be (meaning the neck can be smaller), or if the tshirt can't show under the dress shirt?

I hate v neck tshirts because the exposure looks less formal, and was thinking about ways to be confortable while still complying.

with an open shirt the t-shirt should not show.

With a closed shirt no one would know.

BTW we use to wear crew neck t-shirts in trops.

The best thing about retiring was the fact that I will NEVER have to wear another V neck T shirt. Dave

I agree, the v-neck has got to go. What worked for Hasselhoff isn't really working for me. Wink

the v neck looks better in trops. The crew neck looked like you forgot your tie.

Flynnpatrick,
The V neck makes it look like you forgot to wear your T shirt... I think it looks sloppy. Dave

A reason for going to the v-neck was to present a more uniform appearance...them grubby old crew neck t-shirts weren't pretty enough! Wink

Yes sir...(also with the working blues)i remember this big mk on the sherman who had the top part of his t-shirt cut out and stuck in his pocket...he would slip this ring/makebelieve t-shirt(no sleeves no body just basically a sweatband) over his head and around his neck ..in the chow line..as the maa was checking for shirts and such... Big Grin
