Now that we're into November and the untucked ODU's have started to ship, does anyone have an idea of the turn around time of the pre-orders?

I just pre-ordered mine today and am trying to get an idea on their arrival. Looks like I'm making BM1 on Dec 1st and I'd hate to get new crows sewn on my old ODU's only to have the new ones arrive before December.

Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

You've also gotta look at a new Gore-tex Parka II, about $229.00, that won't be too short for the untucked ODUs.

I just called on my order a couple of days ago. They said that they were just waiting for my trousers to come in, and that the order should ship to me this week. I was told that they are shipping with pretty good turn around time. You can call the UDC and they should be able to tell u the status of your order.

Congrats on putting BM1 on!

I have the same problem with the trousers, apparrently they told me that since the off shade on some they are waiting on the new trousers to come in. I called 2 weeks ago and then this morning, and they are still waitingg on them. They said I should definitley have them by end of the month.

For the benifit of thers, I will repeat what I said on another board:
No you SHOULD NOT have to look at the FWPII now, it HAS BEEN a required Sea Bag item, it can ONLY be purchased from UDC, period and the cost at UDC is the EXACT AMOUNT that was deposited in your pay over a year ago. For more info, See ALCOAST 384/07. ZERO excuses for not having one already.

BM2 - a needle and thread only cost about $0.99. The crows are about the same. You shouldn't have to worry about whether you need to sew it on twice.

I was one of the ones who had to redo the pre-order and I received mine today. I have to sent the trousers back though. Wrong size. Oh well.

Still waiting on my initial preorder from the first solicitation. I called the UDC yesterday and they said that after the color fiasco and the subsequent removal off the shelf of the tainted merchandise, they have to wait for sizes to come in. I was told they get orders in every other week and ship them out as available.

I called today (I was a pre-order and re-pre-order) and my trouser size (medium/regular) is still not in. And I just realized that the new pants have pleats in them. What is up with that?

So what's everyone think of the new Untucked ODU's? I saw a pair being worn on base today and told the guy he had to tuck in his uniform. It pretty much is an ODU top, just untucked. He looked like he was wearing maternity wear. I was expecting a little more from the Uniform Board. Oh, well. I guess instead of gas station attendants, we can be pregnant women. No offense ladies.

I agree BMARS. Mine have not arrived yet but the ones I have seen very much look like the maternity ODUs. Tailoring is not allowed but maybe it will be authorized after they are all out in the field and some higher ups complain. If tailored I think they would like great.

BMARS, I am a female, and I am not offended by your analogy. Recently, I have seen numerous people, most of them being in shape men, wearing the new uniform and looking like they could be expecting. One thing came to mind when I saw these men was that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Junior.

Just word of warning to all you guys, make sure it is the Female Maternity Work Uniform being worn, prior to congratulating a woman on her expected baby. I feel sorry for the first person who comments on my none existent fetus.

I have yet to get my pre-order / re-order. I guess they are still having quality control issues. Last time I called was early November and they said at least three weeks. Now they don't answer the phone. Likely on holiday routine.

I called yesterday after I have been seeing recruits coming in with the uniform. Was told that they still dont have my size in and have no idea when they will get it. So where is the problem coming from? Is it the manufacturer?

Something tells me this will happen often to people! Hopefully I won't be the one to say it not thinking! Big Grin

Like a lot of folks, I too did the pre-order and re-order. That was in September. I'm at the average USCG size though, so I'm sure that I'll be waiting a lot longer. I've noticed only skinny people and short people wearing them so far, must have plenty of those in stock. I will say that after actually seeing them in person and up close I'm in no hurry to get them. I'll be fine wearing the tucked version for 3 more years. Poor choice MR. USCG, these uniforms have zero quality. I think it makes us look like giant blue triangles. Oh well, maybe they will redesign them again before I get mine.

I'd have no problems wearing the tucked version too, but UDC doesn't have my size anymore... so now I'm stuck with having to do the preorder for the untucked version and having to wait for that to come in (sometime...). Hopefully my current ODU's last that long! You would think that if the new untucked aren't in yet, that they would continue the old version so that we can maintain a good looking uniform without being stuck like I am. Oh well....nothing I can do except wait for the pre-order to show up some day, or month, or year....

Original, you can still order the tucked in ODU's infact you can get them very cheap. Just call the UDC and tell them you would like to order them.

Why are there pleats in the new "untucked" ODU trousers? Roll Eyes

This question has been burning a hole in my brain

Am I the only one who thinks the "pre-order" was a bad idea? Maybe they should have waited until the uniforms were stocked and ready to ship before taking any kind of orders. I've been waiting 3 months since my pre-order and over one month since being told, "Just waiting on the trousers, they should ship very soon."
