I'm having an issue at my unit trying to get some plain black work gloves. Does anyone out there have any idea where we can get some quality black on black work gloves as per the uniform regs? The powers that be at this unit will not bend whatsoever when it comes to uniform regs

Go to any Army_Navy surplus store and get the Army issue black leather gloves with green wool inserts. I don't know the NIN/NSN number but I bet it will be printed on the inside. The gloves are cheap and are good for work and within regs.
If you are looking for a "Mechanics Gear" type glove I know they make solid black ones but I don't have a source for you, sorry.

If you are looking for the all black mechanics gloves, look me up in the global address book on WS III. My unit issues them and I can get you purchasing info from our supply office.

WORK gloves are usually ORGANIZATIONAL clothing issued by the unit. There is no standard, excpet what meets health and safety and the work being done.

Now, if you're wearing them to keep your hands warm while in uniform, then black is the standard.

Black SHARPIE. done.

Issued black leather gloves with Kevlar linings.

GREAT for protecting hands.

NOT SO GREAT for keeping hands warm.

Look in the R&S Manual appendix A-5 BAsic clothing section 1 Source of Supply is GSA/Private Vendor.Also Check the cold weather gear section there is no rerason why you cant order the proper stuff through GSA,Life Saving Systems or any prime vendor Check out a company called Outdoor Research they have a Govt contract and all the company logos are subdued to not clash with a military uniform.If you have anymore questions hit me up in global.
