I am a former Command Chief, after reviewing the uniform manual on the proper place to wear the mini metal it seems to be confusing. One picture shows it being worn underneath the ribbons,
(1/8 inch from the pocket flap), while another shows it being worn underneath the name tag in the same manner. I have even seen this problem in the field, meaning some have displayed in on the left and some on the right. Just trying to get it correct...

This is another thing that should be corrected in the upcoming revision. The most common things folks have done is to shift the mini to the opposite side of the Full size one, like all other 'I used to be' devices.

Now, you will also want to check COMDTINST CI1306.1B, COMMAND SENIOR ENLISTED LEADER PROGRAM, the old CMC instruction. This instruction supercedes the current uniform regs in that only full time Silver Badges are authorized to wear it post assignment. This pretty much means only those folks assigned to actualy Sector CSC/CMC billets, not those chosen by the CO to do it as a collateral duty.

MC, is there any word on when we can expect a new uniform manual or a new medals & awards manual?

I both spoke to and E-mailed a MC out of MCPO-CG's office a few weeks ago, and was told it (the M&A Manual) is coming.

I didn't get a time line, though.

It's supposed to contain the WHAT IS and WHAT ISN'T AUTHORIZED lists regarding ribbons/medals/devices from the other services.

It'll hopefully clear up a whole lot of ?'s folks currently have.

Would be nice if he sent you a copy of what is, what isn't or you gave him some feedback on common awards from other services...I hope they are conferring with other services on this one....

Wray, as you know I'm also retired. Nonetheless I got dinged on y umiform just the other day. My wife told me I couldn't wear the "I'd like to help you, but I can't fix stupid" T-shirt with my shorts to dinner.

She also implied my flip flops were not part of the authorized dinner uniform.....
