Any one else on a 4 month back order for the FWPII? Would be nice to have a status for the back order on the UDC website. Any one heard any thing? Confused

I was on back order since Oct. and got mine about 3 weeks ago. I'm assuming yours will be there shortly.

We're making these as quickly as we can but have a lot of other garments being produced for other branches of the military right now. (ABU, APECS, FR-stuff, ECWCS, etc., etc.)

Bottom line is this: We're now stocked on the liners and some parka sizes will be fully stocked within the next few weeks. If you check the Propper website, you can see which parkas are available immediately and which are backordered.

Has anyone actaully held up the original FWP next to the FWPII? I can't tell a difference....I think I heard someone say there is some kind of reflective strip on the collar, but other than that I don't see any difference.

The differences are as follows:

1. FWPII is longer by a few inches (same with the liner)
2. Neck storm tab for protection during bad weather.
3. Sizes vary from X-Short to X-Long for all waist sizes (35 sizes in all). The original only had regular lengths available (7 sizes).
4. Other construction enhancements that make it sturdier and more durable.

How is production / delivery coming along?

While I am at it, if you have a need to test the FWPII pants as potential motorcycle foul weather gear, let me know! Heck, I would even fill out a survey for you! Threeflys is probably gonna volunter too, but he doesn't have a real motorcycle and doesn't live within 800 miles of 'foul' weather! Big Grin

I know we have a couple of batches in QC at the warehouse right now so some sizes that were backordered should be back in stock shortly. Other sizes may take a little longer since there are so many backorders that need to go out. The factories are cranking these out as quickly as humanly possible but, as I said, the military also has us doing a lot of other stuff for folks who are currently deployed. Army, Air Force and Marine Corps in Iraq and Afghanistan all have immediate needs for outerwear and FR garments and some of the plants are solely dedicated to that. We haven't forgotten the Coast Guard though and have lots of folks working on the FW system.

As far as you offer to wear-test for motorcycle use, I will pass your offer along...

Also to note..I used the provided measureing guide to choose the size..WOW that thing is freakin HUGE!! I need to contact UDC and see about swaping. I have talked to a few people and they say the same thing about thiers, so if someone out there might have gained a few pounds and ordered a L long and needs an XL Long contact me and I will swap if the UDC won't take it back. I would be more then willing to pay shipping both ways.

My question is, what is the CG going to do with all these R&S issued FWP1's?

I'm sure they'll be disposed of properly when they're no longer servicable. Wink

Got my FWPII in. No fleece yet as my "wallet" (wife) wont let me order it yet.

Like it so far even without the fleece. 1st time with any FWP. Good wind/water profness.

If it didn't cost so much I would be looking for a cammo one for a good hunting jacket...
