If you go contract, whether you have or dont have a rotc scholarship, what is your 'legal' status? I mean legal status as in are you considered a civilian? Member of the Armed Forces?
One of the reasons why I'm asking is because my parents are divorced and my father has to pay child support, pay for college, etc. Anyways, one of the conditions for it to get nulled is if I join the military.
If anyone has the answer to this, I'd be greatful.
Once you contract, you are officially enlisted in the U.S. Army under MOS 09R. Unless you are doing SMP, you will be in the U.S. Army Reserve (Control Group).
wow, that sux for you magical_white_wolf. one thing that might get around it is going to one of the senior military colleges. there are six of them. you do ROTC but then you can commission without contracting until you actually commission. its a special law for the senior military colleges. i'm going to vmi myself, but the other 5 are virginia tech, texas a&m, north georgia college and state university, norwich university and the citadel.
