Basic Training |
Hey I was hoping someone here could help me with some questions I had about NROTC. I want to apply for a NROTC scholarship and take the Marine option route. However I am not sure if I have a good chance. I am a little worried about the pt test. I am in good shape(play soccer year round). I can easily run the 3 miles in 18 minutes for portion, however I am not sure if I would do well on the pull up test. If I was to do bad, would it hurt my chances a lot of getting the scholarship?
Also, when doing NROTC, is there a program that allows you to attend Law School, and then eventually be a JAG in the navy or marines? Also, when is last possible week I can turn in my application and still have a good chance? |

I know one thing. If you don't apply then you have zero chance of getting the scholarship.

I cant speak with authority about NROTC, but the folks I knew in Army ROTC with some sort of athletic background had little trouble with our PT test. I recall one guy who was big time into track and field who initially had problems with pushups, but he fixed that pretty quick. Im sure youll do fine as you are or with a little extra physical training.
