Since nobody has seen fit to reply, I will. At Univ. of WI, the Marines did PT seperate from the regular Navy kids. Also, they did have their own Marine uniforms for at least their senior year. I'm not sure when they get them but I would assume after some sort of summer training program. You may want to ask in the Marine Option forum on here. Also, talk to the cadre at whatever school you are considering attending. Things can vary A LOT from school to school.

It's not a "suckers way" if you are thinking it's going to be easy. No, you're not doing the military thing 24/7, but you still have high standards you must meet while in the program and be able to manage your classwork and your ROTC requirements. It's definitely very difficult for a lot of people. Just as the previous poster said, your time commitment during the week will vary much according to whatever school you go to. My unit's requirements are lower than other schools (based on talking to mids at other schools) but that's due to the fact I'm at a top 20 university and from what I've gleaned from those other mids we have waaaaaaaaaay more schoolwork than they do. But it's not "easy" per se, so if you come in with that mindset you will not last for long.
Marine options are part of Navy ROTC. You are integrated with the Navy option midshipmen, though you have Marine insignia on your Navy uniform. You will have separate PT and some separate classes, as well as different requirements in the summer. The summer before your senior year you go to OCS for 6 weeks.
