Anyone have any info regarding graduations at Huachuca. Specifically 35F.
I am looking for locations and times. I need to get the info to family who may attend my sons upcoming graduation. He has not been provided any real specifics......
Is this an OPSEC issue or just an unknown?

Not an issue of opsec at all. Your son's cadre (ie: Drill Sgt or whoever they now have supervise when not in class) should be able to get that information. Next time you talk have him ask for the information and they should get you pointed in the right direction. Our graduation, same MOS, last year was in the chapel down the road from the main post PX, it may be different now, but be careful, and get a map as Huachuca can be confusing for new comers.

Graduation, as KiowaRy stated, is still at the chapel. 0800 in the a.m. and quick. Buses line up outside and wisk everyone back to barricks to leave. Whole affair is about 2 hours.

I also have a soldier in AIT at Ft. Huachuca. I would like to travel there for graduation but I'm having trouble getting any specific info about it. My son is in Delta 305 and the grad date is Aug 14. My questions concern when he will most likely have liberty prior to graduation so we can visit. (i.e The weekend before, the day before, other???) How far from the post can he travel? If there are websites that have contact info of people with intel about grad activities, what is the url? Web searches have turned up very little good info. Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Usually the weekend before graduation should be free. I think with some companies like Delta, they actually can ship to their next duty station on the day of graduation. As far as travel, AIT students can go as far as Tucson without a pass. This rule can also depend on the company.

Thanks, Bio. I appreciate the info. Grad is on a Thursday. Any chance he'll get an off post pass Mon, Tue or Wed? I figure he's going to be packing to ship to his next assignment, but is there also training/exams on those days?

Training should have ended a week prior to graduation. That last week should be mostly clearing post/out-processing. In my company, we drove around at our own leisure to clear. I had enough free time that week to meet up with my parents every day, but Delta might be more strict about that. The evening should definitely be free, but maybe not during the day.

Thanks again. Good info. I can't wait to get out there and see him. I've never traveled to that part of the country. I'm in the planning process now. Are there any "don't miss" attactions I should see?

Bisbee and Tombstone are interesting towns, both with a lot of historic sites to visit. Bisbee is about 40 minutes from Sierra Vista, and Tombstone is about 25 minutes away. If you wanted to go to Tucson, that is a little over an hour away.

I just returned from Fort Huachuca visiting my husband. My husband stayed at the Army Lodging with me and came to Tucson to pick me up and drop me off at the airport without a pass. My husband is graduating on 14 Aug as well. As I understand it he will be in the field for 10 days prior to graduating, ending the Sunday before. I will be getting there 12 Aug and after graduation we will be driving back across to MD to finish packing and heading out to Fort Lewis, WA. Where will your son be stationed?

Not sure where he will be stationed yet. He's headed to Ft Benning, GA for Airborne and then goes to RIP (Ranger Initation Program). I was able to speak with his sgt and was informed that my son would most likely be on holdover at Huachuca for a couple of weeks and would be able to get a pass immediately following. He was going to put in for a pass to go with us to the Grand Canyon after graduation. We're all looking forward to it.

Best of luck to you and your soldier.
