I'm at a fork in the road right now. I'm an 96B analyst with a Special Forces Group with experience on a ODA, because there was no 18F so I filled in. Since then I have gone to SFAS (sf selection) and was selected. I have two options, 1) Just got offered a large sum of money to for one year in Iraq as a contractor to become a screener 2) Go to the Q-course and become a special forces communications sergeant and go to Afghanistan immediately after the Q course. So my question is, what will benefit me as far an intelligence career? The year I already have in Iraq, plus the year as a contractor, or a as a Green Beret with 2 tours, one in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan? Thanks for any input you might have!!!

Go to the Q course. No question. You'll make more money in the long run as a tabbed operator than you ever will as a 96B - and you can still do the 96B jobs if you want to. You can always go back to being an analyst. You won't always be able to go back to going to the Q course/Robin Sage.

I agree. Having the long tab will open many doors that would have been closed to you otherwise. The availability of schools for SOC soldiers is remarkable. However, only you know if you have what it takes to make it through SFAS and the Q course.
