I just signed up for the guard as a 35w. I am scheduled to go to the Defense Language Institute in November. My wife is due with our first child also in November. Does the Army pay for a pcs move to Monterey? Can I live with my family from the beginning?

Also, does anyone have contact information for someone at DLI that I can ask questions of?

Thanks.

PCS move question sounds like something your NG unit would know.

If you're married, you'll live off post or in Army family housing.

For active duty it is a PCS move from BCT to DLI. I'm 99% sure it for guard too.

Yes, it is a PCS move for active duty. We were there back in 99-2000. Plan on living on base, Seaside is a really high crime area and the nicer areas are very expensive. We had a nice house, and they were redoing housing when we left. The hospital is really nice, your wife is lucky to have her baby there!
