Ah yes, "Directed Research" and "Don't tell us it's a 96B focused course."

Too bad they stopped doing the Dining-In.

God I hope not... There's a more indepth STX than BNCOC and that;s all I know. ANCOC seemed to have more time to spend outside of class than we did but I don't know, maybe they just drove faster to the bar.

Well, I was told by a buddy that went not too long ago that even though in theory it's now a 6 day a week course, in reality Saturday is pretty much just "Directed Research."

As for the STX? I guess it depends on whether you have any Privates or Lieutenants to play with just how interesting it'll be. My class didn't have either, so it was pretty much just simulating TOC's from Division level on down.

I'm due to attend in August. Everything I've heard from recent grads says its all 35F-focused. The CI and HUMINT portions amount to a footnote in other classes. Most of the guys I've talked to pretty much said it was a check-the-block course. Not necessarily a waste of time, but not really the most effective use of the same time. Kind of like PLDC or WLC if you've already had a good amount of leadership time.

Yup, it was the same for SIGINTers. I think the STX had all of 5 SIGINT jobs. Too bad there were about 20-30 of us.

Still, it's a chance to get yourself a GAFPB.
