I recently enlisted in the National Guard as a 35W. In order to make a ship date appear at MEPS, the counselor said I had to choose a language. I chose Arabic. Now my contract says

"School course, I have been assured of attending the School course for:

MOS: 35W
Skill Level:1
SQI: Linguist
ASI: 00 Default Code
Language: AD Arabic - Modern Standard

Does this mean I am guaranteed to learn Arabic or have I just given a sort of language preference or placeholder until they choose one for me? I thought I could not choose the language but perhaps I am wrong?

Thanks for the help.

As far as I understand, National Guard members have their course spot reserved before they get here. It's safe to assume you'll be learning Arabic.
