Guys, I arrived here in Huachuca about 2 weeks ago. I am a 96b, so ask all intel related questions and I'll do my best to answer them.... I also have lots of friends who graduated basic with me who are 97e's.
My son will be at Huachuca on 10 Sept to start 96B school. He is at Jackson now preparing to ship (long story..he graduated BCT on Aug 3rd, went home for 2 weeks and then back to Jackson)
He is still sitting at Ft Jackson waiting to ship out. He is wanting to do Air Assault after BAC as well. What is your report date for BAC? If you guys are going to be in the same BAC class then you guys can train together at Huachuca. I do know that if you are not at 100%+ on your PT you may have an issue at BAC. His goal is 100 push-ups in 2 minutes. He reports to Benning on 1 Feb for BAC
We will help your son to in-process once he gets here. So far our platoon (Rattlers) has about 30 soldiers. By he time we start class we should be at 150 or so. So, yeah, we will be a huge class.

100 pushups in 2 minutes? Maybe your son should be helping me. I can max my pt test but 100 pushups is above and beyond the maximum of 72.
I would be worried about running the 2 miles in 13 minutes or less if I was him.
Dont be so worried about BAC, the PT is not as difficult as it may be cracked up to be. Be able to do 42 PERFECT pushups and be able to get below 14 mins on your run and you should be fine. You need to be more worried about how to create MCOO's and INTSUMS right now. Focus on the 25m target for now...the 300m will come in time. Good luck to all of you starting school, start loading up on coffee now, its the only thing that will save you from death by powerpoint and many sets of pushups. Mr. Webb, as far as AASLT school goes, you need to have him call the unit and talk to the school's NCO. Have your son email me with any questions he has and I can put him in contact with the right people, after all, he will be filling my shoes in the 2 while im gone. I wanted air assault when I was at AIT as well, but honestly those slots are hard to come across at Bn. Not many people really get them. Hope I can help you.
My spouse just graduated basic and has shipped today to Fort Huachuca and his class dates start sept 10, I was wondering will he get a pass anytime before that? and also could his family join him there his expected Grad date says Jan08, but his flight return says feb 26 08, his mos is 96b. Thanks for all responses
quick question, my son is in 97e and he has been in school for 2 months now. he took an exam and he thinks he failed the first part but the second part is today. my question is if he fails the first part would they put him back a couple of weeks. or let him keep on going?

Marce: Without getting into too much detail of how the course is run, I can say that the instructors will give him every opportunity to pass his exams... provided he is motivated to study harder and work on what he failed on. That being said, he should still be okay to continue on as long as he does okay on a retest.

What pendletone is trying to say is, the Army is pushing so many 97E through the house that it doesn't really matter what he scores. If he's breathing, he'll make it.
