Can anyone verify when the ASM rate changed to AST? I have found the date of October 1988, but would like confirmation. Thanks.

This was part of the Aviation Rating Consolidation. I went from an AECS to an AMTCS on 1 Jan 1999, so I guess that would be the official changeover date.

Commandants Instruction 5221.1 of 18 Sept 1998
about aviation workforce re-alignment, lists 1 Jan 1999 as the date to rename the rating AST from ASM. |
