For the time being, I'm kind of out of the loop with AST related news so I come to you for the latest...I was looking at Direct Access today and I saw there were openings for ASTs standing Rescue Swimmer duty in Jacksonville...Is there any truth with this?...When did this happen?...Will the duty standing ASTs be tasked with the door gunner responsiblities as well?...Whats the word...

I would think due to the nature of the mission in Jaks...that question cannot be answered on this forum...OPSEC!

I thought they only have AST's at airstations and I thought that Jax was a base..? not sure

With 6 MH-65's and 4 more coming by the end of summer I think that qualifies us as an Airsta.

No RS duty just gunner duty. Pack away the fins for a while..
