Hey keithsta22 what's up? I have a quick question regarding the brick drill or test. How would you recommend strengthening legs for this particular evolution? I played water polo when i was little and i tried my eggbeater the other day @ the pool. Man it's rusty!!! how can i get that back?? Thanks!!!-Lakespeed

practice makes perfect

Agreed!!!! When training for sports or a physical activity that is very specific, like Egg beaters, The only way to get better at it, is to do it. All the squats, running, jumping jacks, thigh master... what ever is going to be useless until you have trained the muscle again to do tht specific activity. Tiger Woods does not hit the ball 400 yds because he does a lot of cross training. He can hit the ball that far, cause he knows how to swing a golf club correctly.

So Keep egg beatering. Then when you have mastered the skill add supplemental exercise to improve upon it. But Egg beatering is a technique skill, not a strength skill. If it was a strength skill. The strongest guy who kid lift the most weight would be the best guy in the class.

Thanks Dogshow, I just got back from swimming and did some eggbeater. It's already getting stronger. -Lake

My eggbeater is getting better already. How intense is the 10lbs. brick drill. That actually sounds challenging. How long do I have to hold it for? And is there a specific way I have to hold it?
Thanx!! - Lake

Hey there gentlemen. Back a little too soon. MEPS messed up on my medical records, should've gotten a memo saying my first HIV test results were cancelled, but didn't and didn't bother to check about it, even with the same memo going out about everyone else in that batch.

So the bottom line is I gave the idiot brigade some more blood today, and if the results are back by Friday, my recruiter's going to smash some heads to get me to Cape May in a week. If it doesn't work out that way, then I ship out on March 4th.

Thanks Dog_show, I appreciate it! Razz

If nothing else, I won't be surprised when it happens again. Always something to learn.

By all means, get yourself squared-away for the Airman Program but if you spend some time at a small boat station or aboard a cutter, you'll appreciate aviation even more. You'll have great incentive to succeed in acquiring the wings.

So, got my ASVAB score back from my recruiter. Got a 94. is that out of a total 100? when applying to AST, do they take everyone's ASVAB and use that to help give prefrence? i'm hoping i can ship out March 24th to Cape May, but its lookin more like Mid-Late April. how long after Boot do i need to wait before i start the airman program?

OC,your ASVAB only makes you eligable. AST "A" school is on a first come, First done with thier flight physical, Security Clearence will be first served. So, how long it takes you to get the AN program may vary on a few factors. I sat on my Boat for 2 years. And that was not me being lazy. That was just how long the wait was. It's not that long now, but historically it's been a long wait.
