I know I read a thread about ast washout somewhere, but I can't find it...so sorry about the new thread on and old topic. If I were to washout of ast a school could I go to bm a school? Or will I have a limited option as to my rate would be?

If you are looking at washing out and haven't gotten there you are setting yourself up for failure.

Just would like to have a back up plan....

Disenrollment from AST A school does not limit your options for another rating.

id you dont make it the first time, can you try again?

i would say make AST GRADUATION your back-up plan, until its PAINFULLY obvious that you won't make it (ie, 3rd, 4th retread or colorblind, etc)
