Hi Guys,

I am hoping someone here could help me. My name is Dave Gillespie and I am a retired Coast Guard C-130 Flight engineer. I was the flight engineer aboard CG 1706 that had the #3 prop depart the aircraft at 20000 feet back in 1992. During that incident, our survival sleds were sucked out the hole in the fusalage.

Anyway, I have been asked to speak at an Air force Aviation Life Support Conference in October about how our Coast Guard Aircrew Life support systems helped us survive our ordeal. I would like to include a picture of our survival sleds during my presentation.

Thanks for the reply. I sure appreciate it. I retired from Kodiak Airstation in 2001 and sure do miss everything there. Sounds like things have really changed since I was there ( Hanger 3 was used for C-130 parking and Support Center Heavy equiptment storage ) Anyway, if possible, could you send me a few pictures of the exterior of the sled and a few pictures of what the sled contains? It would really help me in my presentation to the Air Forces life support systems convention My email address is:

Hi Again Dave. I just got to thinking. Could you possible get a picture of the survival sleds as they are mounted on their racks in the cargo compartment of the Herc. That would be a great shot.
