60 pus-ups w/out stopping...all the way down all the way up. followed by 70 continious sit-ups all the way down all the way up, then 8 pull ups, 8 chin-ups. 2 mile run in under 15 minutes, 500 swim in under 10 (i believe) then 4 underwater with 30 seconds rest...thtas the PT out test...the numbers start smaller and as the weeks go on the number get higher, but these are the numbers on your last test, in week 16

Are the pushups and all that timed?

And when you say 4 underwater, you mean 4 laps?

What kind of sit ups & Push ups do they recognize?

They are timed, you have 2 minutes on the push and sits, pulls and chins are not timed. You have to also do them consistently with no stopping.

And underwaters are 25 yds long.

Can anyone confirm that the swimming test is 500 yards at under 10 minutes? I read one post that said it was 12 minutes.

IT's 500 yds in 10 minutes To graduate school.

To get into school it's 500 yds in 12 minutes.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.

Does anyone know if that is the only timed swimming test that you are required to pass? How many chances do they give you to pass it? Do they test you at any other distances such as 1000 yards?

800 yd gear swim
1500 yd gear swim
2000 yd gear swim
800 yd buddy tow
you'll also have to swim the river which is about 5 miles across and back.

PT and swim tests are a break at A school, and the least of your worries. Sorry I can't remember the time for the swims.

all the timed events were breaks, the timed runs/swims were the best thing at school, besides cool down stretches

Sand Bagger!!! Just kidding. The running was defintly my strong point. Pt was not to bad for me. But in the pool I had to earn every second.

I have a feeling that it will be the same for me. If you are a natural swimmer, the timed tests may have been a break, but I have a feeling I will be earning every second in the timed tests as well. The running part would be a cake walk for me however.

Favre used to be an excellent runner. Favre had an amazing scramble to beat the Falcons in one of his first years as a Packer. Today he can't scramble real well, although he did show some speed against the Chargers last week. But normally, he just takes quick choppy steps. I wonder if Favre's mental/physical toughness could get him through A School even with his lack of athletic ability?

maybe so when he was younger. Dount it now, the man is pushing 40.

And he alwasy did scramble pretty well, but that's not the same as running for any distance.

favre's still an amazing athlete. To be a QB in the NFL requires a lot of athletic ability...There's no "lack" about him. Some instructors are his age. They still smoke check the young and fit students.
