Questioning fair play and fouls of the game (grabbing, holding, pulling, removal of goggles and depantsing...) Requesting feedback from other shops on thoughts and how fairly you play the game.

Grabbing and holding is fine as long as you talk dirty while you do it.

As for the depantsing, its only a callable offense if they say no and there is a witness.

In all siersousness we had a great round of 2s vs 3s. Being the smart team (seconds) we greased ourselves up with SPF 50 so thick the little guys couldnt hold on for nuthing. They went for the masks/goggles and it was like taking the gloves of for boxing!

We play quite a bit in SD. But not with a brick. We use those underwater torpedos. They make a passing game, and make the game a much faster tempo.

But to the question at hand. The guys in SD play pretty fair. Though I tend to depants myself in the games. It seems to keep people from grabbing me.

Confused you don't feel exposed, or vulnerable trolling your twig and berries?

A "no goggle gouging" rule was put into place recently, other then that, friendships tend to be put on hold here on the Cape. Someone always walks away bloody or noticeably bruised.

May this snipe please ask what sort of "game" you fancy boys are playing with each other?

... cause it sounds like some don't ask, don't tell and green light/red light is in order ...

I guess it depends where you are stationed and who you are stationed with. When I was in North bend it was kill the guy with the brick ( Ron Treiman rules ), San Diego we were usually in the hot tub, Miami it was'nt invented yet, except for Sully and Farmer trying to kill each other in water polo type activites. Now in Kodiak if Wil is playing he makes up the rules as we go, other than that we play torpedo ball or brick. Standing rules are no pulling on the shorts, no grabbing of the goggles, no grabbing of a player that does not have the brick or torpedo. And I still can hang with the young kids (most times). I still like playing though.

Cold! But not to bad. We have about 16 guys and 1 gal on duty so the duty is very relaxed. We have not had alot of SAR this year but the winter so far has been mild. Last year it was nasty after the 1st of the year so we will see how the crab fishing is in St.Paul this year.

My best man was stationed there back in 76-77 then came and joined Pat Weaver and I at the ASM shop in Sitka. Twice while I was at Sitka our shop was run with only two ASM's. I know the job has change very very much but how many AST are stationed at Sitka now?
Peace, Happy Holidays and if at all possible stay warm,
Sincerely,
Dick Driscoll
