Howdy,
Wanted your opinion on whether or not I am eating too many carbohydrates (seems like all I eat is carbs -_- ) Here is what I generally eat on a day to day basis: Serving of oatmeal in the morning (has some sugar, its Quaker) and a banana in the morning. 2 large carrots. A tuna sandwich, which consists of 2 whole wheat slices of bread, a can of tuna in water, some cheddar cheese and some mustard. Dinner is usually a meat entree and some vegetables. Desert is a fruit drink which is usually half a cup of orange juice and a cup of frozen unsweetened fruit (blueberries or blackberries). Opinions are welcome. Thanks. |

Looks like you eat a very good variety of carbs, proteins, and fats. As long as you are active, and don't have weight issues, I wouldn't worry about the carbs.

Your a girl I presume?
Your carbs are barely above 100gs, and your protein is only 60g tops. After you count the calories from your small amount of fat you're barely consuming 800 calories. If anything, you need to eat more. If you think your eating too much and this is all your eating, I think you may have a problem. |

Dang – you really are eating very little.
I recommend eating 6 times a day. Breakfast – Cereal and fruit, the oatmeal is good Snack – Something e.g. small handful of almonds w/o salt or anything, a thing of string cheese, some veggies, etc Lunch – Cup of turkey chili, tuna sandwich, turkey wrap, etc Snack – Similar to above (I had a bowl of raw berries this afternoon) Dinner – same type as lunch (make sure you have a grain, veggies, protein source, dairy – i.e. well balanced) Snack – Protein, dairy (this could be a protein shake with skim milk- great for post workout) Make sure you balance out your diet. A really good book, I took a lot of my diet recommendations from is Abs Diet. I’m not spamming it; I really use it and have found it works for me. Email me and I can give you some great recipes from it. SgtWUSMC@yahoo.com I keep whole grain tortillas, some spinach, carrots, and sliced turkey and make wraps. It’s quick, easy, and tastes good. I use mustard or a low cal, fat free dressing to add flavor. I also have a great calculator spreadsheet that you can plug your info into and find out how many calories you should be taking in to either lose, gain, or maintain. For example – taking into account my age, height, weight, and activity level I need the following: Maintain: 2085 Lose: Between 1285-1685 (IMO it shouldn’t be below 1400) Gain: Between 2285-2485 Notice there is some fluctuation like 1685-2085 between the lose and maintain categories. |
