I'm 19 lbs over the limit for my height but my body fat % is 24% and the max allowed is 30%... is this going to affect me getting an ROTC scholarship? I'm going to the school next week to take the APFT, and I've been praticing and will definitley pass everything, but I'm real worried that my weight might affect me being medically qualified.... any answers/advice here? I don't want to have to wait another yr to get into ROTC because of this!!!

as far as i know, if you're over the weight limit, but bodyfat % is under the max amount, and you can pass all events of the APFT, you SHOULD be alright. double check my info though, because i might be wrong. but i think you should be ok. then again, 19 lbs is a lot.

your good to go.

I have been in the military for 19.5 years and have enjoyed all of it. I am now transitioning out of the military and embarking on a life of independence. I have a company that sells a good product line to help with weightloss. If you are intrested contact me at -->TOS violation: Solicitation. Deleted by MOD<--

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause.

Take it from an old guy; staying under max weight is the best policy. Develop a good exercise regime, coupled with good diet. It does not take long for the body to surge into fat storage when you are not looking. Found that out the hard way. Retired, quite exercising and suddenly found myself 40 pounds overweight. Ok, Ok!! it was actually 6 years and now I am finally getting back to my old régime of working out 4 or 5 x week for anywhere from 45 to 1 hr, 15 min a workout. Haven't lost much, but am working at it. The older you get, the harder it is to take it off. Good luck!! Have a great day!!
