Why do you bring up her qualifications to teach civics? Is she applying for a teaching job? Many people who teach civics in high school may not necessarily be able to teach it, but they may be so called "qualified."

For those who still maintain that the media is not hopelessly biased consider the case of Joe Biden being less than honest about the death of his first wife. Until being called out by the family of the other driver involved in the tragic accident Biden would make the claim that his wife had been killed by a drunk driver, a claim that the facts fail to support. It does not take much to imagine the media frenzy that would have ensued had Sarah Palin prevaricated about such an event:

I guess I didn't make my points too clearly. I was talking SPECIFICALLY about Sarah Palin's public complaints that she had been mishandled by McCain's campaign managers. I wasn't arguing that mismanagement should be covered up when it occurs in classrooms or hospitals. The Republican party has traditionally been known for its self discipline and solidarity. Palin's pronouncements violate the rules that team players usually follow.

I brought up the widespread public impression that she couldn't teach a class in high school civics -- NOT because she is applying for a teaching job but because she is applying for the job of running the United States. A qualified civics teacher would know that the Vice President acts strictly as a tie-breaker in the Congress and has no influence over it.

And I'm sorry I said she "controls" about 20% of the more extreme rightists, by which I mean those get agitated about secession, phony birth certificates, impeachment, and things like that. I should have said she "influenced" them or -- better yet -- that she "reflected their values."

Sarah Palin seeks to represent the "Republican rump" of that party. She can have it, and let's see how well she does.

Her problem, though, is that she has criticized the "media" for dissing her. BIG. MISTAKE. Because now they most certainly WILL make life very difficult for her. A sign of brilliance on her part? You decide.

Also, for myself, I wonder just how great of a CINC she'd make if she can't take the media heat, and the bloggers who make fun of her, and the legal issues that seem to hound her (rightly or wrongfully so).

I like her, personally, and think she'd be a great "chica." I respect her for chosing to be the best mom she can be to her kids, and a grandmom, too.

But as presidential candidate? Don't think so. She doesn't have what it takes. In fact, I could almost say she's nucking futs.

What would be her credentials, except a governor that evidently can't focus on governing, and a parent that can't focus on parenting?? Super!!

Sorry, it wasnt intentional..actually I have several names in different places I go and wanted to update my info so I could remember my screen name..I saw you guy's lovely avatars..I believe that is what they are called..I never had one and I have come on here off and on for yrs..so I updated my mouse51 to gratefulmouse which is what i use now most of the time..I tried to add a avatar which is the picture that some have and its a great one but it wouldnt come up, so I emailed the help on this site and they told me that at this time they dont let anyone add avatars or pictures..like I said mine is so cool..its lady liberty holding the flag standing on the world..amazing..its on my bio site but that is it..so when it does come up maybe they will let me use it..if they keep me on...

I have gotten the warnings on here if you can see them for mouse51 and gratefulmouse..10 day warning on veterans issues.and now trying to use a differnt screen name.I do have an acct that lets a person do that.....I went on the veterans issues and then on the sub site for vets and retirees health insurance and other issues and posted something on there that had to do with what i just went through with tricare prime..more or less, my husband is dissabled vet for yrs and my dad is also, and I have 2 sons in the military actually one just got out and is a fed agent now..so, I said and this is what i noticed..before that though..my warning was that i should have put what i wrote on this website instead..and now im being punished for it..i got no first warning actually.like hey please put that on another site and they could have taken it off..but my warning wasnt pleasant and then when they noticed that i changed my name which took place way before I knew I was going to get any warning..I went in on my account and put my info in abt me my new avatar and new acct name...or screen name..then when I emailed them back to ask them to please send me what I wrote because I dont keep track of things like that as I dont spend all day on the computer and at that time I let them know i changed my name and was going to ask them what screen name do they want from me as they ask for that....

my husband has been retired since 1994..he did veitnam and gulf war..he was exposed to chemicals that caused him serious health problems with his bodily organs and one of the guys who worked with him..man he has 100% dissability..he is dying. so, my husband is dissabled vet..my father in wwII shot in the leg and kept the shrapnel for yrs till it surfaced..my sons in the military..fighting in afghanistan and the other man he was airforce military police kicking in doors and being shot at by a missle when picking up the dead when the uss cole was attacked. so Im there..born at fort lennardwood..hello, anyway..I didnt put that on there but just letting you know where i stand...

well, my husband works in hospitals..we were in houston tx for awhile and he worked at 'FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS"...AND "NOT FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS". Most hospitals dont like tricare of anykind..you actually get better care at the military hospitals. the Not FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS TREAT YOU BETTER. the FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS WILL NOT DO TESTS THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO DO and you are treated like you are contageous.....example..I flew to baby sit 4 grandkids and after landing i had a swelling under my left rib..the dr I saw at the For Profit Hospital was my primary dr and refused to do an MRI, He did xrays seeing something there ..but not knowing really what..I called tricare and told them and they said what is the problem..they need to do an MRI AND to insist on it..the dr still refused and I asked him why..he said, sorry its too expensive..we have to keep costs down..someone told me ..that drs are allowed so much for testing and if they dont use the money they get it back as a bonus..now I didnt say that but I was told that and dont know if that is true.but it was weird because the primary wasnt the one getting paid fo the MRI. I canceled that dr out and got a new primary at a NOT FOR PROFIT HOSPITAL'...AND I told the dr there and he said why wasnt one done..the swelling was down.I swole up going and coming back flying on the plane..but this dr said we actually need to see if there is something there as this is odd...so he did it..but because it was down nothing was showing..but when it was swollen and hurting bad..it wsnt done..

I also spoke about how they are trying to bring in gov health insurance and realy we are already use to socialized medicine.it wont bother us as much as others..and I also said that my son in law who is a dr has other dr friends and said if this comes ,,socialized meds..that they were going to quit..they will just sweep streets.I was more or less informing retirees and vets who may not know this but that FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS WILL NOT TREAT YOU AS WELL AS NOT FOR PROFIT HOSPITALS....now the site had to do with vets and retirees health insurance and other issues...I looked on the site and other people posted problems as well. it had to do with vets and retirees using tricare outside of active duty..retirees...

ok what is switch and post please..i hope i havent done that..i have no idea of what that is..all i know is that we have accounts on here..it lets you change your name..I did that..i wanted one I use more now..I thought when I changed my name that all of my previous posts would say my new name..that is what usualy happens on other sites i go on..so when I saw that my old name was still there i mentioned it on a warning i got about something else becuz it asks for my screen name..i didnt know what to put so i told them i changed my screen name and gave them both..of which later i was threatened about it but i told them i did that and didnt think that was fair..so they are in court now trying to figure out my punishment for that as well...
