---- Two guys I knew back in the day,(joined, NOT drafted), clean, straight shooters, "Obney & Wiggington"... both names are on the "Wall". Both could not wait to get back to the world, get jobs, buy houses, new cars & marry their girl-friends.. They are not forgotten ..

SSGT Paul Jackson
1976 ~ 2009
160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR)

Sometimes it is difficult to convey in words just what unfolds when attending an Honor Mission for a fallen Hero.

SSGT Paul Jackson a member of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) Honor Mission is captured in the photos below from the PGR being asked to serve as Pallbearers at the Terry Funeral Home to the final minutes at the Cemetery were the members of SSGT Paul Jackson’s unit removed their Unit Crests from their uniforms and presented them to the PGR members.

For these Soldiers it was their fourth Funeral in a week, previously they attend the funerals for
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Terrance Geer, 40, a native of Casper, Wyoming
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Robert Johnson, 41, a native of Seattle, Washington
Staff Sgt. Chad Tucker, 28, a native of Titusville, Florida

who also died when their MH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed while conducting mountain and environmental training.

Utah lost One of its own recntly - -

RIP Soldier

PFC KIMBLE HAN, Lehi, Utah

Kimble Andrus Han Private First Class Private First Class Kimble Andrus Han's life was taken when the vehicle he was driving hit an improvised explosive device in Kandahar, Afghanistan while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom with the United States Army. Full of courage to the end, he was a true warrior. We are sure he is enjoying a great reunion with his dad who preceded him in death 16 years ago.Kimble was born the second of eight children to Bill and Lisa Han, August 17, 1979 in Gold Beach, Oregon. He spent his growing up years in Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Colorado and Utah. He loved life and his family. Another love he had was sports. If it involved football, basketball, baseball, golf or snow boarding you'd find Kimble there. He enjoyed many fishing and camping trips while he was growing up. He was so excited to finally have found his soul-mate Melissa Lund and another bonus was three cute boys. They were married on Jan. 16, 2009 and they looked forward to being sealed in the temple. A short time later Kimble was deployed to Iraq with a final destination of Afghanistan. In August he had a much-anticipated mid-term leave for two weeks. What a great and fun reunion was had with much of the family. Kimble is survived by wife, Melissa, three stepsons, Brenden, Austin, and Caleb all of Las Vegas, NV. Mother and stepfather Lisa and Paul Barnes of Saratoga Springs, two brothers Jerod (Belinda) Han of Lehi, Logan Han of Saratoga Springs, five sisters Malea (Jeremy) Lyons of Dickinson, ND, Brittany (Greg) Campbell of Medford, Oregon, Alyssa Han of Saratoga Springs, Hayley Han of Provo, Natalie Brooks of Saratoga Springs, and step sister Alexia Barnes of Saratoga Springs, nephews Trentyn and Hunter, nieces Aubrey, Lacey, Jentry and Lora. Grandparents Cuddy and Mary Ellen White of Brookings, OR and in-laws David and Sheryl Lund of Las Vegas, NV. As well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Kimble is preceded in death by his father, William S. Han, grandmother, Kathleen Kalteich and grandfather, William E. Han. Funeral services for Kimble will be held Sat., Oct. 31, 2009, 11:00 a.m., the Sunrise Meadows LDS Chapel located at 947 N. Jack Rabbit Run in Saratoga Springs, Utah, with a private viewing at 10 a.m. at the same location. There will be a public viewing Fri., Oct. 30, 2009, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main in Lehi. The dedication of the grave will follow at 12:30 p.m., Veterans' Memorial Park Cemetery, 17111 Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, UT. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people, both friends and strangers that have offered love, prayers and support. God Bless America and protect our soldiers.

You're a 19 year old kid.

You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in
the Ia Drang Valley.

November 11, 1965.

LZ X-ray , Vietnam .

Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy
fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away,
that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the
MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns
and you know you're not getting out.
Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles
away, and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this
is the day.
Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear
that sound of a helicopter.

You look up to see an unarmed Huey. But ... it doesn't
seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you.

He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he's flying
his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.

Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.
He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun
fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the
doctors and nurses.

And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!

He took about 30 of you and your buddies out who would
never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed
Freeman, died last
Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise , Idaho .

May God Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's
passing, but we've sure
seen a whole bunch
about Michael Jackson. . .

Medal of Honor Winner

Ed Freeman

Shame on the American media !!!
