OK, this election has been scary enough, let's put it on hold & talk scary movies. There use to be old scary movies on Channel 11(NY metro area) called "Creature Feature". When I was about 8 or 9, one freaked me out real good, it was called "Fiend Without a Face". It was an old 50s B SciFi/horror movie. The begining of the movie the thing was invisible. When it became visible it was a crawling brain & spinal chord(eats' what it is, hmmm). It would suck out your brain & spinal chord(kind of like politicians, oops, wanted to get away from politics! Razz). For some reason this movie scared the hell out of me. Eek I wouldn't go to sleep in my room that night(every kid knows, the couch in the living room is a safe zone from monsters!)

"Brides of Dracula", 1960 British horror film. It was on a double-bill with "13 Ghosts". It was the first horror film from England's Hammer Studios I had seen (I was 9 years old) and starred Peter Cushing as Doctor Van Helsing.

Jaws. When the diver was next to the sunken boat and that head popped out!

I was like 8 or 9 maybe. We were in the base theater and I almost jumped all the way into my dad's lap. He thought it was hilarious.

The first Halloween. I saw it when it came out and I was 12. I watched the other day, in daylight(I'm 42) and I still had that feeling of dread. Really, the first of it's kind, and teh music alone would scare teh crap out of you.

Two movies

First - The Exorcist almost killed me. I didn't sleep well for weeks!

Second - that Alfred Hitchcock movie where some creature is out on the plane's wing and it is destroying one engine at a time. And when the guy closes his visor - and reopens it, and it's right in his face!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!

Favorite Twilight is when the lady killed her husband with a frozen leg of lamb and then cooked it and fed it to the investigating po-po.

The first "The Thing" movie...of course, I was only 6 or 7 when I saw it - on Black and White TV - back in the 50s. That spooky weird violin music, wondering which door the monster would bust through, and the fact that we were in the middle of Cold War/Flying Saucer Fever as a nation didn't help - AAAARRRRGHHGGH!!

The lines I like best from it:

"What if he's telepathic and can read our thoughts!?"

"Then he's he's gona be real mad when he gets to me!"

"Can you shoot that thing?" (refering to an M-1 carbine)

"I've seen the movie Sgt York several times!" (Licking his thumb and touching the front sight)

GGGGRRRRRRRRR!!!
