Hey, it's my goal to be a Marine, but we all love to play games everyonce in a while. To some, it's more than a game, it's a way of life. So lets make a list of your top 5 favorite games. (Note that I used to play games ALL the time, but hardly play a few hours a week nowadays.)

My top picks: (I mostly play RPGs)

1. Final Fantasy VII
2. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
3. Xenogears
4. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
5. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

And just what's that's supposed to mean? I love to fist fight it out with my 34 year old uncle in Tekken. My grandpa and I had a swordfight last year in Soulcalibur 3. Video games aren't just for kids. Half of the ones in the top 50 on gameinformer magazine every year are rated Mature and can't be played by kids.

And you think a "Mature" person wastes time playing a video game, and fantasizes about going out and killing people? Many people well into their 30s are still children...

They just put that label on there to placate parents and suck in young people like you -

Tekken? What the hell is that? When I was in high school, I used to "fist fight it out" at the local Polar King again the players I'd knocked heads with on the football field in the game a few hours before...broke a few noses and got a broken nose that way. Boxed AAU. Gave all that children's stuff up when I joined the Army as a Recon/Scout at 19.

THAT is what that means, kid!

Op Flashpoint and it's successors good enough for you? They had a spin off (Virtual Battlefield Simulator?) that was used for training.

And I'm saying that just because it's a game, it doesn't necessarily mean it's childish. Is watching action movies childish to you, just because it's a movie? That would make you childish for watching the newest Batman movie. There are games out there that have the same action and emotional impact as any hollywood movie.

Greek to me. Last video game I played was Pong on a Atari Game System. Haven't kept up with or have the desire to play video games. Enjoy yourself.

Well I have a few games for my Atari 2600 and a few for my Atari 5200. I have some
for my nintindo game, and I have a fishing game, Hot shots golf, Resident Evil,
X-men, X-Men Legends, and a few more for my playstation 2.
One generic disc that fits my PS2 that has centipede, asteriods 1&2, Defender,
Pac-man, and there is several other games on it.

While I was a Weapons Controller in the Air Force, I used "F-16 Falcon" as a way of getting a pilot's perspective, and if I had the chance to get in a couple intercepts before doing missions, I would. But it was never a "game". It was mental preparation to anticipate the situation, to be ahead of the event, to make the right call a spit second before it was needed to stay ahead of the power curse - to get the "kill", and to keep "metal to metal" events from happening.

That is the difference between "child thinking" and "man thinking." Because, in the real world, if you tell them to kill, they will.

You watch Top Gun and say, "Wow!"

I went to work and said, "Spider flight left 320, kill bandits 340 for 30 miles headed 250 angels 20 medium aspect lead-trail 5 mile split!"

"Roger, Warlock, hits there. commit! commit! 2 shackle right, I'm locked leader!"

"2's locked trailer - "

"Warlock 9 rogers locked - - "

Life ain't a game- -

William....... consider yourself lucky... most of us, although we may have wanted it, looked at something they(we) wanted and turned away because there were more important things to spend ones money on.. like tires, gas, food, rent, phone,...... when I was home from adventures overseas it came down to having $7.50 a month, yep thats right - a month that I could spend on me... I broke that in half so I could "party" twice in a month. That meant a beer and a game of pool Annnnnnd if I were lucky on the pool table I may even be able to spring for a second beer - that was big doings for several years. When your only choice is 1 English Muffin, 1 quarter pound hamburger patty, 1 slice of American Cheese and 1 egg is the allocated(rationed) food intake for the entire day (eat in parts or go hog-wild and have the whole shebang for dinner)then you can appreciate what GreyWolf had to say. When you're finally on your own then you will see the wisdom in it.
I will admit when I was first married my inlaws bought us a "Pong" game.... THAT was exciting... and the tavern had a "Tank" game that was cool but I have never been inclined to pay what these games now cost - even though I could, and by the dozen, there is still that old saying, and one you may want to adopt later in life... "How bad do I want it (usually really bad) and how bad do I NEED it (usually not at all)" So, enjoy while you can but I do not think this tread of yours here will get much traffic.

One Flag......One Heart......One Nation............EVERMORE

After rent and all the other schit we paid livin in a dump outside Fort Ord We had enough money left for Pancake mix and syrup. Kids, a rude awaking is around the corner!

Hey, I know what you guys are saying. I buy my own games and that's about 2 games a year. I know the difference between reality and a game. I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with having some fun once in a while. Most games I play takes strategy and quick thinking. I know it doesn't even compare with reality but it's still fun y'know? We're poor. I'm an only child and I live with my mom. My dad's a basturd who's in prison somewhere (used to beat me and my mom), so trust me, I know what real life is like.
