That funny rasping sound is my hind pockets dragging across the floor. I always knows when it's quitting time, cuz I've turned two or three circles looking for some tool or something that I can't remember what it was I was looking for - -

GWG, mom is right, when ya can't remember what you were doing, or where you left something, take a break and have a beer.
After ya finished the beer and still can't remember, have another beer. If ya still can't remember...well, you get the idea! Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what you've been up to! |

The wheels are turning - but the brain is burnt
Have to put it off to another day When the Spiritus Mundi hasn't drifted away - - A little too tired to rattle tonight The Genius has taken flight But the morrow will bring a special Day Then I'll clack the keys, you can bet - yatahey - - Wandering and Wondering |

"Pintos" "I was observing a small group of chestnut horses in a grassy meadow when I became aware that they were 'observing' me. This seemed like an interesting situation for a painting. I also thought it would be fun to have the horses observing you, the viewer, before you could find the horses! So I began to think of ways to camouflage them. The chestnut horses became Pintos, and the grassy meadow turned into a backdrop of rocks and snow." - Bev Doolittle Pictured above “Pintos” Her paintings ALL have “hidden” images; mostly wolves, eagles, and/or Indians. My favorites are her use of the birch groves. "Hide And Seek" Bold in concept, dramatic in execution, and over a year in the making, Bev Doolittle's extraordinary Hide and Seek Suite of interactive images is a delight for both the casual and avid collector. "I set myself the task of hiding pinto ponies in an environment of rocks and snow," explains Doolittle. "Then I defined and refined each image to create a unique composite work where all the separate pieces come together to spell out the words 'Hide And Seek'". The result is a masterpiece of "camouflage art" from the unique artist for whom the phrase was invented. Each one of the twenty-four individual images is a delightful exercise in Bev Doolittle's art, blending the pony with its snowy environment brilliantly. But only when all twenty-four come together can you find the letters which are hiding among the rocks and horses. choose joy each day |

"Let My Spirit Soar" "My thoughts fly up like birds it the sky. I am free. I can fly. I go everywhere. I see everything. Towering mountain ranges and a tiny flower growing in the desert. I see cities and highways and a fallen tree I see a grandmother telling a story to a child. I sit quietly But my thoughts fly up like the birds in the sky. Only I know where they go. When you sit quietly, where do your thoughts go? What do you see?" - Bev Doolittle choose joy each day |

“Two Indian Horses” "It's fall, 1875. A regiment of the Second Cavalry takes a short reconnaissance ride from Fort Ellis, Montana. The soldiers have stopped to rest the horses and themselves before the onset of winter. As a rule, most people view things from left to right... it's a habit from reading. So, by camouflaging the two Blackfeet Indians, it is my hope that the viewer will pass over the Indians on the extreme left of the painting, continue on down the row of horses to the soldier walking off the extreme right end of the painting. Having most of the horses turned and looking off to the right helps to subtly force the viewer's eye to the right and away from the 'discovery' of the Indians. Discovering the Indians last rather than first helps to make the story more believable and lots more fun. These Blackfeet Indians are about to be two horses richer, hence the title, 'Two Indian Horses.'" - Bev Doolittle choose joy each day |

"Two More Indian Horses" "Ever since 'Two Indian Horses' became a limited edition print in 1985, I've been hearing collector's suggestions that I paint a sequel. Of course, my answer was 'No way! I did that painting already!' However, ten years later I'm eating those words! Without intending to (really), I have found another fun way to tell the same story. The telling of this story differs greatly. You, the viewer, are witnessing not only what is happening in front of you, but what is taking place behind you as well. Although the format of the painting differs totally from 'Two Indian Horses', the same two warriors are at it again - about to shorten the chain of cavalry mounts by two." - Bev Doolittle choose joy each day |
