So I desided to circle 'round the clearing in shadows of Night -

Food cooking on the fire smelled oh so good
Could not stay long hiding in the dark ole Wood

Gave a low howl and came wandering in
Warriors stopped for a moment then began chanting again

Gave me a place on the edge of the fire light
But didn't fret if I wandered back off into the Night - -

So I been lurking off and on here abouts
Chanting with the Pards, Warriorettes, and Down-and-Outs - -

Kinda become a second Home
For this one gettin too old to roam - -

Wakan Tanka, Great Spirit of Life -
This been a good place to get away from the strife

That the World can throw at an ole greyhead every day
Thank Thee for helping me find this place - yatahey!

ABSOLTELY Magnificent Photos, GWG!!! I have read a lot of National Geograph magazines in my time but I have never seen photos like these: the one of the wolf catching the salmon or the one of the eagle taking on the fox.
Amazing!
Thank you for posting these!

You gotta thank Warriorette Chieftesses Peaceforall and MissU2 for those. I'm just the wandering beggar and part-time shaman around these parts - -

By the way, welcome to the fire - and have a bite . . .

My apologies to MissU2. I went back and looked again and I totally missed those headings. Them's being wolf pictures and all, I just assumed ... well, we all know what THAT means.
Thanks for correcting me and for bringing that to my attention ... and giving credit where credit is due.

Thanks for the bite too. Dat sure looks Good! I haven't had a good stake for quite some time.

Wish I could reciprocate.

Blessings.

Time to crawl into the tent
Back's sore, energy spent

Funny how fast Time goes
In the land of Mysts and Snows

Wonder what the morrow brings
Won't know until the Cedar Jay sings

Ado from now until the Sun brings the day
Keep eye to Horizon, and watch yer topknot - yatahey - -

Saw ole Mr. Pinion Jay this Morning at first Light
Gliding across the Tribal Camp in swooping flight

He comes hunting for the seed and nuts this one leaves around
Eating some, hiding some, and tossing others on the ground

The doves and sparrows all scatter at his raucous call
Though he doesn't seem intent to bother them at all

He just swoops in and start bobbing about
Squawking with each motion, which puts all others to route

Sometimes he shows up accompanied by another
Hard to tell if it be mother father sister or brother

But this one guesses it be his Mate
And her call seems to warn him not to be late

With the seed he has gathered to take back to their nest
after he has carefully chosen the very best - -

Then blue wings all aflutter away they go
Back off to the land of Myst and Snow - -

This one identifies much with these visitors all noisy and loud
The way just their appearance tends to scatter the crowd - -

Seems that's what happens each time this one decides to speak
Tribal folk immediate cast about eyes for shadows to seek - -

This one definitely means no harm
Just looking for someone to talk with - friendly and warm

But maybe deafness makes me speak too loud
And many deep ideas keep thoughts in a cloud

This one thinks on Wakan Tanka and the tragedies of the World
Wondering why critter Man into so much disaster be hurled - -

Sees no answers - tries to run away from all
But the brain is cooled by the Warrior's call

So the Tribal Camp seems the right place to be
After years of wandering over Land, Sky, and Sea - -

But this has become a lonely place now Day After Day
Soon come the deep White from the Mysty Mount to cover all - yatehey - -

bump cuz it happened again
So I guess I'll turn in - -
