we pulled into Scania. I was immediately (as Escort Commander) set upon by two very crisp officers, and a senior remf NCO and taken to task for A. Bringing a HMMWV into their FOB with blood all over it's hood, and B. for taking my helmet off as soon as my ASV rolled through the gate.
After they walked away, I lit up a smoke and tried to lose myself in thought for a minute or two before all the paperwork began, when this little E6 with missing teeth and IQ points picks that moment to inform me that I was not allowed to smoke anywhere but designated smoking areas...that was his job, his entire job in Iraq, to walk around and tell people where not to smoke.

I dont know where you were but blood on/in vehicals was a pretty common sight in my AO, I never saw an officer or enlisted give any crap to personel returning to a FOB with wounded, I also never saw any designated smoking areas... besides outside TOCs and then it was just so some poor snuffy didnt have to police up butts.

The whole Rear Area Mother Fugs is crap, what an elitist atitude, I hope those lowly REMFs were able to patch up your WIA, repair your vehical and feed you in spite of your attitude.

No, my dead and wounded were medevaced. Their vehicle was recovered after it burned. Chow hall was closed, but we brought our own so no big deal, oh, but hey, they did let us use their wash rack.

its still dripping.... glad you like the pic, but we wont be taking long hot showers together in the wee hours of the morning. The oakleys are issued and work well in sand and wind, but you would need to be dismounted for that, huh? wouldnt trade my A2 for an M4 if they offered, some units just are not as rich as you cali beach boys. I used them mostly to keep the sun, sand and wind out of my peepers. That A2 is the same one I carried before I was deployed, they were nice enough to add a M9 so I was dual armed. Sounds like you stayed at some first class circus's.

In my own defense I would have used a term ending in the word "Brick" or "Bird" instead of REMF but it's likely a TOS violation. Actually if I really had an issue with folks because their job is inside the wire I would have used "Fobbit".
I didn't mean to leave the impression I was puffing out my chest and denigrating another's service. I was denigrating the priorities they brought to that service. Peacetime priorities have no business in place like that. Like the dude in the fire fight at Spaghetti Junction during the first Thunder Run who, with bullets flying, demanded an empty magazine from a troop who'd gone black before he'd throw him a new one...for accountability.
Or...like the issues Bad Voodoo are facing right now. Equipment they need is being collected up now to ease acountability issues later. Same thing happened to us when we had their mission. Bad Priorities.

No, I dont know any of the B Troop guys yet. A bunch of us are xfered over to B Troop soon, so that might change. I hope not though, I like C Troop.

Their 1SG was my first, first-line leader, and I got alot of years TIS with and respect for their Readiness NCO. They're some good troops there.

Fobbit? well thats a nice term, seen quite a few of them and most were carrying M4s anyway, it was a great #issing match. By the way were the officers in question with the 1st cav? sounds like something they would do.

Ha, ain't that the truth.

No, these guys in Scania were 34th ID, but before I cheese off any Redbulls, I gotta say the 34th (other than these clowns) were awesome soldiers who did a great job and saved my bacon more than once. I think they might hold the record for time in theater.

I don't remember the units in Striker or Ramadi.

Several of the Bad Voodoo boys, guys that were in the actual PLT(including the PL), are filtering into my current unit and assignment. Only 2 of us know who they are and about the documentary, its going to be interesting to hear it from the horse's mouth as to what went down.

Even closer to home, Civil War blockade of the South helped win that war.

1LT Ferrel isn't coming back to B Co 1/184? I thought Bad Voodoo would be released from the 160 when they got home?
