Last night, hub in bed, me, upstairs as usual playing on the puter. House is locked up, back doors open for fresh air. Big garage door closed. Heard a loud crash. Did my looking around, then I heard a noice in the garage. Put on Dennis shoes, cause mine were in the closet and didn't feel like getting them. Went out to the garage and noticed that the window on the driver side of our 89 Blazer was busted inwards. We have a little hole cut into the big garage door for our kitties to come in at night, but we keep them in the house at night now.

Anyways.... anyone have any idea what the hell happened to cause us a 200.00 repair on an old blazer?

How little of a hole? Thieves often squeeze through animal entrances to rob buildings. Are you missing anything from the vehicle? When cars get too warm, they sometimes blow windows out. I guess it would be possible for a rapidly cooling vehicle to suck a window in, but I'd guess unwanted visitors. -

No chance of a rake, shovel or some other implement falling from a wall hanger and hitting the window?

The kitty hole is only big enough for a cat, too small for a person. Nothing in the garage, all tools are in the barn. The weather here has been really different each day. I think it might have been some kind of pressure.? Don't really know, lol. I think I might crack our firebird (99) windows just to make sure this doesn't happen to it. Eek We don't need anything else to cost us more money.....

It's hunting season in this neck of the woods. You might check the walls facing the broken window for bullet holes - -

Is it possible that someone could have been hidden in the garage and exited by the door and locking it as it closed?

What did the window look like? Was it completely shattered top to bottom or was it partially broken? How far away from the door frame were the pieces?

First order of business!

Junk yard for the window should be about 15 to 25 bucks and take an hour to replace.

You only need screwdrivers and an adjustable wrench or a wrench set.

Some body mentioned checking the facing wall for bullet holes a twenty two can easily penetrate a wall and break a window and you would have NOT heard the shot.

It could be innocent, somebody shooting at a rat, racoon or a 'possum on a garbage can. OR more than that, who knows?? A standard velocity .22 can travel three quarters of a mile and get the job done. A quarter inch hole will be difficult to spot, try a bright flashlight at night from the outside that's the quickest way to find it.

Well it's still a mystery to us. No bullet holes anywhere, the whole window shattered, but most of the glass was in the seat and floor board. No one around. Happened around 2 in the morning too.

GWG, can't afford a new car, duhhhhhhhhh........... Big Grin

the garage door closed - check.

The only opening is an animal door for cats only - check.

Tempered glass auto window shattered - check.

no bullet holes - check.

No intruder - check, er, RMW...... I hate to say it but "...IT's" still in there. Oooooor hiding in the dryer, waiting. Eek Eek
