Cool
We can not afford to pay both mortgage, car note, and utilities in MD and pay rent and utilities in FL.

Question:
Do you quarters for unaccompanied soliders in Miami?

My husband is Army Recruiter and has orders to go to Miami. I am a GS-11, there are no jobs in the area that equate. We have to very active daughters who both professionally sing and dance. I have also checked the dance schools in the area and they do not offer the technique/training needed for progression. For that reason we are not traveling with my husband.

Choices:
help?
help?

I'm sure that your husband will have a terrible time down on Miami beach without you and the kids along. It sounds to me that your job and the kids dancing is more important than being a family. You and the hubby need to find jobs where the family can be together.

He is assigned to a recruiting command, not an unit on a base. There is not Army Post, Naval Station or AF Base near Miami. Homestead has closed as an active duty base. That was near Miami. I think your husband is going to have to get a small apartment in the area.

Vanir97,
First, being a family is very important to me, its just unfortunate that the Army didn't issue myself and our 2 daughters a stock number.

Second, I have been working for the federal government for 23 years, and my girls are established and they have a record deal. Sooooooo. My girls and I are not relying the military to provide for us.

Third, your right about finding jobs so that we can we stay together, but he has his job and we weren't issued to him. so Thanks for the advice.

Jackie, what agency are you with? The three counties that make up the region that includes Miami-Dade, Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) and Palm Beach County have a large number of US Government jobs at a variety of agencies.

I didn't make that statement to be flippant. A family belongs together. You could check with other Federal Government agencies in the Forida area and perhaps swap straight across for a job closer to your spouse. I worked for the Federal Government and was able to change jobs in a different State in that manner. As for the Children, Move them to Florida and take them back to where ever for their record contract when necessary. Absence does not always make the heart grow fonder, it can also make the heart wander!

Yes that is so true.(fonder/wander) Maybe that's the reason my husband has chosen to move so far away. Maybe he's running from something/someone. Wink
