An artist, teacher and warrior all in one. Sounds like a complete package to me.

Hello OldArmyLove --- all I can see is several red x's either left click or right click... nothing ...
Would have liked to see them as I think there has been some good artwork on this topic. GWG - Good artwork. Okay I'll mention a couple and maybe one of you computer savvy folks can post the picture for me... Have to head to work soon. First one is a WW2 G.I. holding an M-1 Garand and the caption says "The M-1 does my talking." Next same G.I. (I think) holding a canteen cup with folding handle (remember those folks ?) Next is a great one aimed at civvies who worked at War production factories and shipyards: "Loose Lips - Sink Ships" { something that should be enforced more on these Boards IMO} And also, "Rosie-the-riveter", saying "We can do it"... talking about the many women who went to work because able-bodied men were in Uniform. Navy Recruiting poster with a 1st Class swabbie in his crackerjacks with a young boy looking at the U.S.S. Constitution. The caption says "Tradition". Great artwork/message. Not really a War time poster, but a very good one. This message has been edited. Last edited by: swremwin, |

swremwin, can't explain it for sure. They are slow to ope, but they open for me and GWG. It may be a filter on your system. They are JPG. Maybe GWG or some one else could help you.
I remember some of those posters, but can't find them on the Internet Take care friend. A listening ear, a caring heart, an open mind and an extended hand may be all I can offer, but it is yours without charge or Judgment. |

I was at a "Books a Million looking at airplane magazines.
An startted reading an article claiming " I was a Rosie the Riveter". And although she worked in the office of Chance-Vought Corsair factory she was told they wanted her to pose for an employment add. So there she was a beautiful redhead in flannel shirt and a rivet gun thinking of a Navy Pilot in the Pacific flaming a Zero. |

OldArmy, I looked at your picture addresses and they are not showing jpg endings. Also, all the addresses are exactly the same - no variation. So if they did show, it would all be the same picture - Wandering and Wondering |

Great ones GWG ! Thanks for posting them. Yep those are the ones I was thinking about. Have you or anyone else noticed a "Theme" that runs through many of them ?... There is a message, and it sure is NOT being given today. The one called "Blast the AXIS! Has 3 words on the front end of the Tank: ... Seek - Strike - Destroy ... while the gun is blazing away at the enemy. The posters aimed at civilians and war materiel workers are to remind them to do more... not for big Overtime checks, and benefits, but,,, to enable the men in Uniform to defeat the enemy. |

Many farmers who wanted to enlist were told to stay home and produce food - same with any skilled laborers...and they felt left out of the War. The posters and other positive propaganda was directed at them to let them know their efforts were seen and appreciated - -
