Mine's Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood. I like how it not only shows training and combat sequences in the movie, but it also has a good story to all the screaming and fighting and marching and running and shooting... plus Clint Eastwood was pretty bad@$$ in that movie.
William..... don't go hog-wild with the new threads thing - this one was alive and well some time ago... and like Yankee said Heartbreak Ridge sucked.... *Band of Brothers* is good.. another is *We Were Soldiers Once and Young*..... and an old gooder is *Cross of Iron*, as was *Das Boot* to mention a few.
One Flag......One Heart......One Nation............EVERMORE
---- Way too many to judge, but my top 10 list encludes, "Red Badge of Courage"1951, /w/Audie Murphy, Bill Mauldin, Royal Dano,-"Leave me be, leave me be", (death scene)..Arthur Hunnicutt*.. Andy Divine, Robert Easton* ---- Look up actors, Arthur Hunnicutt & Robert Easton!!! - You will know them INSTANTLY!!! - Two of my favorite character actors..Top notch!...///.. Royal Dano was in, "The Thing", threw water in some guy`s face...///////.... "Pony Soldiers" is right up there too...
---- Oh yea,,, "Bataan" 1943, Robert Taylor...One HELL of a war flick...back in the pre-PC days,,, when a murdering, Death March Jap was a Jap...//.very few of them were brought to the gallows.. too bad..
My PTSD also doesn't like me to watch war movies either.
I don't watch any, I'm tryin to get over the hump but it's not to easy as you get older is what my Shrink is tellin me. PTSD is forever. But those 2 I posted are my favorites.
Got money for everything but "VETERANS" Same old story!
Since there's guys here that played with tanks, you might want to watch Humphrey Bogart in "Sahara", but it is not as interesting as the Red Badge of Courage, as LuckySoFar said.
