Whisper That's a lot of cats....... Roll Eyes Big Grin

I'm afraid we're going to end up with that problem because of strays. We feed 'em because I can't stand to know they're hungry. First it was 1, then 2 now 4. I don't know what to do with 'em. The 2 baby ones are wild. They won't let ya touch em. I heard on the news a while back that in some state (I don't remember which one) it is illegal to feed stray cats. Eek

Besides the strays that have adopted us and hang around outside our house ~

We have 2 strickly indoor cats. They never go outside. We live in the city and it's dangerous out there (Cars, Dogs, Cruel People. Roll Eyes) I love 'em too much to take a chance with their lives.

Speaking of Curel People ~~~ growing up we had the sweetest indoor/outdoor Siamese cat. She came running home from behind a neighbors house. Her entire back side was wet and smoking. About 3 days later she had no hair and it looked like raw meat on her backside. Frown Apparently the SOB neighbor (a mean old man) had thrown boiling water on her. So I don't trust strangers with my animals. Wink

Whisper These are my babies! Smile

When I find my photos of my cat "****y-Grid #1" playing in the rain and a wet mess of muddy fur, I'll post them here. I have no idea why folks think cats never like water---they only TOLERATE it---see the "Tiger Spash" show at World Wildlife in Phoenix. Kittys big and small can be very water-loving. Depends on Momma-Cat and what she teaches them. Great cat pics here...you guys have some very funny pics of these amazingly agile little furry friends! I like the creativity and the quick reflexes of the photographers who've gotten the funny and incredible photos for us to enjoy. "Patch-Cat" all stretched out, about to make a big splash off the rubber boat is great! Thanks one and all! Applause Beer

Kitties CAN be trained to do many things. Mine readily and willingly walks with me in its leash/body harness setup better than many dogs. I do this to keep Kity safe, as Kitty is naturally curious. Kitty does not know that most dogs don't care for Kittys, unlike the QH "Sheena" (Queensland Heeler) that Kitty grew up with. Those two truly are 'peas in a pod'. Both love water. QH dog Sheena sticks her head in a 5-gallon pail to retrieve a sunken ball dropped into it. She actually blows bubbles like a diver as she gets the ball out of the pail. This is a real sight to see. Sheena is a smart problem-solver. She learned to sneak up on something and pounce on it from my Kitty. To see a dog emulating a cat's behavior is very funny, indeed. Sheena uses her paws to stir up debris to flush out lizards, etc, which she loves to chase. Kitty did this just following a cat's natural prey drive. Sheena followed suit! Will post the pics here soon. Wink Big Grin

I got censored by Robo-Censor! Take my first kitty's name of "Hissy-Grid #1" and put a "P" where the "H" is...named such because the tiny kitten let loose and lost control of its bladder all over me, as I held it when I first found the little two-week-old orphan. It was near death, having gone without its mother and food for a considerable time. I gladly took it in, and the rest is history. Big Grin

I've got two 11 year old littermate brothers.
Had them since they were 6 weeks old.
Suffice to say...I'm still around to provide for their well-being.
They are fed daily @0430 when I get up for work...then, I have my first cuppa.

Wouldn't trade thm for anything in the world.

So I got a count today on the cats that have taken over my place. One is mine, and 42 are merely residents... Now as to "training" cats. Mine is very well trained as an alarm clock, she wakes me up every morning in time to feed her, get a shower, and go to work...unfortunately she doesn't understand what a "day off" is. She also likes to go for rides, but knows the road to the vet a little too well, and will try to ambush you and make you go elsewhere, smart little bugger.

For those of you that have feral cats in your area/home, try getting in touch with "Alley Cat Allies" by using the Google search engine. Also, find out more about TNR: Trap, Neuter, Return by using the Google Search engine as well.
Navy8086, LOVE that picture LMAO! Where did you find it?

ssg91B,
Thanks for the info about the strays. I'll check into that. We do have animal control here but I wouldn't call them because I'm afraid they'd just put them to sleep. Frown

As for where I find my pics ~ Whisper I google them! Wink Smile

You're right! I do spoil my babies rotten Wink That's what they're for. Smile

Looking forward to seeing pics of yours. Beer

Ours enjoy riding in the vehicles also. The big boy likes laying upside down on the dash looking up at the sky and trees that go by. He's like a inside hood ornament. Cool Big Grin He also likes water. I give him a bath and he don't mind. He'll jump in the shower with us. Big Grin
Baby girl wasn't crazy about water at first but she's learning to like it! Wink She follows him and sees him do it and she wants to also. Cool
