I want to join the Army, but I take Adderall (A prescription drug because I have ADD). From what I have heard, you have to be off of any prescription drugs for a year before you are eligible to enlist. Is there anyway around this?

There is NO WAY AROUND THAT RULE for a reason.

You will not be given this medication while in Basic training - and if you have a negative reaction or freak out, we don't need you to have a weapon!!

If you feel you don't need to be on the medication, go off of it for a year and try again.

These rules are to protect you and your buddies.

But only if your doctor feels that you no longer need/require the medication. DO NOT stop the medication on your own. Again, only your doctor can take you off any prescribed medication.
