Try asking him for his address...

18472923,
Most addresses over here have the unit name, the unit number (for example Unit #15239), a box number, and the APO/FPO AP Zip code. It's absolutely essential you have the Unit Number, Box Number, and APO zip. You could also contact the Red Cross and request their assistance. They helped us when we lost contact with our son. I'm in Korea, so if you email me his name and what address information you have, perhaps I could help you find him. |

18472923,
By the way, for security reasons, I wouldn't be able to give you his address. But if I can find him, I could ask him to communicate with you. |

Let numbers contact the RC buddy, you could unwittingly be helping someone who might want to harm the soldier.

Good afternoon and thank you for responding. This is my son and I am offended that a statement would be made that I might be trying to bring him harm.

You should be very happy that we here on MDC do our best to protect our Military Members.
You may be his Mother but, here we have seen many who were not related to soldiers, sailors, etc. who would cause them harm. I would be offended as well but then I do understand the rules of the game. You have no info in your profile that would indicate that you are who you say you are. How are we to know you are this soldiers Mother? I can appreciate your anger if you are his Mother and I am not trying to be mean to you or cause you any frustration but think about it. The best thing for you to do is to contact the Red Cross and ask them for help. They can verify your relation to the soldier and they will work quickly to help you. I hope this helps you and the soldier. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

Sgt. Green, I praise God for people like yourself; and I guess I am just being a mother who misses her only son terribly. My reason of concern is I sent him documents that need to be signed and returned to me before December 10, and he still have not received them. Additionally, I would like to send him a package for X-mas, and am afraid that he will never get it. Thank you for your concern for all the soliders. God bless |

Which information? Is it the one about where my son is, if so, please delete it if you can. I do not want to put him in any danger or harm.

ProudMomma now that's a great name for this website.
Of course all the Mommas are proud but you get to express it with your screenname. The Red Cross has been a military supporter since 1863 when sixteen nations formed a society to adopt resolutions and principles to form voluntary units to help with wartime sick and wounded. The trust that the Red Cross has earned gives them Carte Blanche when it comes to military affairs. When you use the Red Cross the information is kept confidential and the chain of command is utilized to give any information the soldier, sailor or airman needs to know. Hopefully you will be able to connect with your son and his security will be maintained. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

Hello Sgt. Greene,
Thank you for the reply and the compliment. I will contact the Red Cross. I've wanted to do something to encourage the troops in South Korea. Any suggestions? |

When you get your son's address send the him and the guy's in his troop some goodies, lot's of'em.
Once you do that then your son will be the popular guy and he will make friends a lot quicker. Find out what items are in short supply and send the troops some of that. Don't cause your budget to suffer too badly cause these guys can get a lot from the BX/PX. Korea is a bitter cold place in the winter so if you can send him some of those new thermal long johns that shed moisture he will be a lot more comfortable. He might need some thermal boot socks that he can use under his issued gear. Hot Chocolate packets, some good inserts for his gloves maybe "Thinsulate" or a brand like that. I was Air Force During that time so maybe some of the people that served there in the Army might have some suggestions. I do know anything that helps one deal with the cold is always a welcome item. And you can always ask your son what he needs. Let us know when you do make contact. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

Now, Go visit the Cafe' Renee, Th' Old Troublemaker's Thread or belly up to the bar and get to know the regulars. Just introduce yourself. There are some other threads that can give you some companionship and then advice. If you stick around you will get to know other's and their favorite threads and then your "In like Flint". Some are curious, some are careful, some are angry and some are Funny. Just don't take everything at it's written value and ask for clarifications. Nobody has that tone and inflection that gets our message across in person, when we're on the internet. Some don't say exactly what they mean and some get the letters wrong, I know I've made all the mistakes, BIG TIME. So just watch me put my foot in my mouth and laugh as I do it and have a great time or just jump into a thread and start writing. Have fun and Thx for having a SON who would serve us all.
These guys help a lot too. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |
