I thought we had a thread for computer problems.
Anyway, I have a Navy buddy who lives in New York state.

When I send him pics, he said "they rarely come out". No one else has had that problem, I've sent pics to them, no problem.

I talked to a tech at my ISP, he said, "From what I told him, it sounds like I'm doing the right stuff. He told me the problem might be my "Buddies web Page settings". He checked and there is no problem.

However, I forgot, I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" at bottom of the screen. I'm not computer savvy, so if you have suggestions...remember to talk to me like I don't know anything, because I don't.

Thank you. Big Grin

If one of you is using hotmail or yahoo, or similar email addy's, that can limit the size of an image-file you may send/receive; also, such email servers will drop things into the "bit-bucket" for no good reason whatsoever!

Try Firefox on a Mac. It'll have you using your PC as a doorstop.

I've heard that Mac has problems, I guess it depends on the user's preference. Wink

I've had pretty good luck with a web site called computerhope.com. It's free advice by experts. I've learned quite a bit bout puters.

The only problems Macs have is that PCs dominate the market, are generally more expensive than PCs, and the number of software titles for Macs is smaller.

There are only four known Mac OS X operating system viruses. There are well over 120,000 viruses that can zap your PC. If you run Microsoft products on your Mac, you can still get popped by macro viruses from PC users who create products from MS software on infected systems - but they won't affect the Mac's operating system.

I'm using a piece of software on my Mac that allows me to run a virtual PC application. There are still some pieces of software I use that will only work on a Microsoft operating system. On my Mac, I can run two operating systems simultaneously (as I am doing right now to listen to streaming music on Real's Rhapsody). Try running two operating systems at once on a PC.

It has been four years now and I still don't know how to put an avatar up or to transfer photos or other things to show the great folks of Military.com. God help them if I ever figure it out. You think Joedokes, Scotty, and Retired Sailor are bad.....

I do it all the time. I'm trying to teach myself some linux so I installed Kubuntu on a Virtual PC running on XP Pro. No problems that I have seen.

Let's test it:

Click START, RUN, type in "Control.exe" (without the quotation marks) and click OK.

Does it start?
