So I failed my CDC's twice and go discharged. It was Honorable but a discharge none the less.I received a 2C which is kind of a dirt bag code for failure to progress. Its so bad the Army wont take me. Now there are people in with DUIs multiple ones at that and I dont think that that is fair. I know the first time I slack off and the second my wife and I lost our son in the hospital needless to say my mind wasnt on a test. Does any one know of a waiver to get back in.

Are you sure that there are people in with multiple DUIs? I really doubt that, the military no longer takes the dregs from civilian life.

Back in the day...the military took some people with minor records on waivers. They surely don't want any drunks!

Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what you've been up to!

I'm sure that the entire military.com family sends our condolences and sympathy to you and your wife at the loss of your child. We hope the future holds many great joys and blessings for you and your loved ones.

Now as far as this

I don't see that the 2C code is a dirty bag code:

  • RE-2C Individuals who were fully qualified when last separated. However, reenlistment not authorized at time of separation under reenlistment control policy.

It doesn't bar you from possible future reenlistment. This might be a good time to consider getting your CDL while a civilian.

As Mikey suggested, you might try the link that he provided.

Again, we wish you the very best.

A listening ear, a caring heart, an open mind and an extended hand may be all I can offer, but it is yours without charge or Judgment.

Maybe they gleaned something from your attitude, as displayed in this part of your post. Roll Eyes

First, IF there are people in the military that HAD multiple DUI convictions PRIOR TO enlisting, (which I agree with bergy, not likely), to continue to serve they would have had to do a 180 turn from that attitude to have been able to stay. A DUI while enlisted can put you out faster than you think.

FAIR?? Who led you down the primrose path?

Rule #1 - There's no crying in baseball. (or about what life hands you)

    Rule #2 - There's no 'do-overs' in real life.

Rule #3 - LIFE IS NOT FAIR!! Pay for your mistakes and refer to Rule #1

Just as OldArmyLove stated - the entire military.com family sends our condolences and sympathy to you and your wife at the loss of your child. Losing a child is a tragedy that I cannot imagine how to deal with. The mere thought that something might happen to my daughter has caused me some terror-ridden nightmares.

I am truly sorry for your loss. The only child that I ever lost was by a miscarriage. I never had a chance to see whether the child was a boy or girl even. Although I am deeply saddened by that, and have cried over his/her loss, I can't bring myself to think of what would happen if I lost a child that had already been born.

That being said, you now have to stop looking for excuses and stop blaming the military for not holding your slack for as long as you wish because of a personal tragedy. And it IS a tragedy. BUT, remember, the military is in existance to help safeguard the freedoms and American ways of life, to assist the people that are victims of oppression, and to stand guard against invasion or takeovers of our nation and/or it's citizens. That means that we must be ready to kill when necessary, not as on attacking force but almost always as a 'guard' force or as 'liberators'...not enslavers. To do this we must have everyone ready, able and willing to do what must be done. They MUST have their head in the game at ALL times. To borrow a phrase from the movie, "A Few Good Men", "...we follow orders or people die."

Please accept my best wishes for you and your family, but if the Army says no...I have to agree with them.

These are my opinions. Yours may differ.
