Beer for your father, Max. My second year AFJROTC instructor in high school was a pilot in the 91st.
It's going to be a while before the Belle is ready for display..10 years was the estimate I received at the museum when my brother and I took the Behind The Scenes tour in '07(?).

Knock Boeing all you want...but some fine birds have been born under the roofs of Bill Boeing's "bird nests"(plants) over the years. I still think Boeing builds a better bird than that hodge-podge multi-national conglomerate, AirBus Industries. The French can't even add an "s" to the name of the group of companieS, as in PLURAL! Mucked up French! I'll stay with Boeing...for better or BETTER! The Boeing 747 still shines 40 years after its introduction into the world's busy airspace in February, 1969! Toulouse has too many screws that are 'TOO LOOSE'! Roll Eyes The Lockheed C-130 "Super Herc" continues to do its hard work reliably, year in, year out. France has to COPY what is definitely one "tough old bird"! Pity the poor, uppity 'winos' at Toulouse! They are giving ol' 'Bill' (Boeing) a run for his money...but Boeing is definitely BETTER, IMNSHO! Beer Big Grin

Counter rotating props neutralize P-force and negate some structural stress. We've done it for years. The P-38 and if I have the name right, the Black Widow both had counter rotating props.

Now a question. What aircraft was the first to utilize counter rotating props, as well as the first tricycle landing gear, the first stabolator, the first canard wing configuration and catapult launch capabilities?

How come I pressed "One for English" and still can't understand a word the dude is saying?

Good point. The Pucara has been around since 1969. Also, looking at the Air Truck, I was wondering how to get out of that thing. Cockpit has lot's of armor but bailing out would be a problem I think.

Just a wild guess - the Wright Flyer? Or maybe the Santos-Dumont?
