I don't know if your banner is the same as mine, but I have an ad for a game called "Call of Juarez". Since I live on the border, I was just wondering if this is based on live action? Oh by the way I had a 1sg in the 507th Maint.Co who pronounced it W.H.O.R.ez.

?? So it this a game or a video?? Another "kill everybody" flick that makes anyone with a gun look like a psycho, or a game designed to assure that with anyone who plays it!?!? Then people wonder why psychos walk into churches and gyms and shoot people!! And don't give me that crap "It's just a Video!" If movies and games and TV showes don't have a long term affect on the mental processes of people - Then WHY do advertisers bombard us with ALL the ADVERTISING they CAN!! Why it the very Macho "Banner" with guns drawn, being splashed across the top of the screen?!?! In today's environment, every time there is a killing, the first question the killer should be asked is, "What are your favorite movies, video games, and TV shows?"and their makers should also be named in the indictment. At least make them waste all their profits defending the blood and guts mentality they are splashing all over this culture - - Wandering and Wondering |

Son of Sam said a dog told him to kill. Should all dogs be outlawed?
Other killers have said the Bible told them to kill. As a kid, I often played "Operation" yet, to date, I have never felt compelled to cut out someone's liver. Don |

Check out the Official Website for the U.S. Army's video game, "America's Army".
americasarmy.com Also, interesting reading on how the Army is using video games to assist in recruitment and training. worldpoliticsreview.com/article.aspx?id=3724 A newly issued U.S. Army field manual has put people on notice: Video games are serious training tools. In its first revision since 9/11, the U.S. Army field manual for Training and Full Spectrum Operations mentions gaming 32 times, describing it as as a key ingredient in replicating "an actual operational environment." Released in December 2008, the new doctrine is another reminder of how gaming is rapidly redefining military recruitment and training. ... Don |

I wish parents would understand that. The brain is no different than the gut...Whatever it takes in, it consumes, digests and sends into the fibers of the body for later action, EVERY TIME!!
Good stuff in - good stuff out! Trash in - trash out!!! The only difference is that the brain (without injury) NEVER forgets its programing. It stores absolutely everything for later use - - These kids doing all this kill kill kill stuff are being programed for that - and some will act it out... Just like they do with fast driving, etc etc... Time-bombs are being created, and often the parents themselves become the targets - Wandering and Wondering |

Sounds like you believe that all military and law enforcement training should be banned as well. Don Grey, I hope you know I have a great deal of respect for you but on this we disagree. I think you want the world to be like in the movie, "Pleasantville". Heck, can't really blame ya. I'd settle for "Happy Days". |

Only if you consider children "sheeple" who will blindly follow without discretion. I suppose you'd think I'm a closet killer because I used to 'play Army' and shoot Japanese and German snipers out of the backyard trees with my brothers. Or that we were just "ticking time bombs" when we imagined our bikes to be motorcycles, WWI fighter planes, or cowboy horses. Maybe even the next Napoleon since I played wargames by the dozens and won the Battle of Waterloo at least a hundred times as the French. I'm sure you were 'programmed' by constant reminding to brush your teeth by your parents. Does this mean you're 'programmed' to go through life without a single cavity? Sullivan013 |

Are you? Aristotle and Plato taught thousands of years ago that the masses could be taught good and bad behavior through Drama... That is why the Theater, with its tragedies and comedies, became the Religious Forum for the Greek Empire and the Myths and Epics became their Bible. Look what the terrible perversion of the Theater into the Coliseum with its blood sports did to the Roman Empire. Yes, most people are sheep - even Christ called them that. Their minds can be too easily controlled. Look how children are brainwashed into buy the next Transformer, or Star Trek doll, or Terminator, or Computer Game by the Movies that are coming out right now!! Which War Game are you anxiously waiting to throw your money at?? Have you actually bought all the real guns and uniforms to go with it?? Don't answer that - - Why not just use the money to take a kid for a hike - maybe go fishing - maybe ride a bike in the mountains...?? Too boring without a few explosions or a good wreck or two?? And what happens when a 5 year old finds a gun, or a group of teenagers decide to take the next step?? For 3000 years scholars have said that the mind can be taught good and ill through Drama and Literature, and people will act upon what they consume - - Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold of Columbine High School Infamy watched "Born Killers" again and again. Suleiman Tolivk, who shot up Trolley Square and killed five here in Utah immersed himself in violent video games before doing that horrible act. In case after case, people who have committed horrible acts have been immersing in horrible videos and games prior to the act. The link is there. Denial won't change it. Trash in - trash out... So I assume GWG that I will become a serial killer because I play Violent Video Games? Or my son the Preacher will attack his flock because he plays Video games? No my friend that will not happen. The people you are talking about had mental problems before they ever played a video game and the signs were there but no one paid any attention least of all their parents.

Look what Adolf Hitler did and was a reader of the Bible.
(Selected quotes from Mein Kampf) nobeliefs.com/hitler.htm People often make the claim that Adolph Hitler adhered to Atheism, Humanism or some ancient Nordic pagan mythology. None of these fanciful and wrong ideas hold. Although one of Hitler's henchmen, Alfred Rosenberg, did undertake a campaign of Nordic mythological propaganda, Hitler and most of his henchmen did not believe in it . Many American books, television documentaries, and Sunday sermons that preach of Hitler's "evil" have eliminated Hitler's god for their Christian audiences, but one only has to read from his own writings to appreciate that Hitler's God equals the same God of the Christian Bible. Hitler held many hysterical beliefs which not only include, God and Providence but also Fate, Social Darwinism, and ideological politics. He spoke, unashamedly, about God, fanaticism, idealism, dogma, and the power of propaganda. Hitler held strong faith in all his convictions. He justified his fight for the German people and against Jews by using Godly and Biblical reasoning. Indeed, one of his most revealing statements makes this quite clear: "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord." Although Hitler did not practice religion in a churchly sense, he certainly believed in the Bible's God. Raised as Catholic he went to a monastery school and, interestingly, walked everyday past a stone arch which was carved the monastery's coat of arms which included a swastika. As a young boy, Hitler's most ardent goal was to become a priest. Much of his philosophy came from the Bible, and more influentially, from the Christian Social movement. (The German Christian Social movement, remarkably, resembles the Christian Right movement in America today.) Many have questioned Hitler's stand on Christianity. Although he fought against certain Catholic priests who opposed him for political reasons, his belief in God and country never left him. Don |

By 'wargame' I mean the old Avalon Hill and Simulations Publications Inc. such as PanzerBlitz, Midway and Afrika Korps.
+http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalon_Hill "Video games" hadn't been invented when I was a kid. The point I was making was my brothers and I 'play-fought' with everything from bamboo stalks (swords and spears) to pine cones, acorns, and snowballs. Yet only three of five joined the Army with the other two becoming Civil Engineers. None turned into serial killers, amazingly enough. We had sports, hiking and fishing too, but our imagination was not censored by our parents for violence, nor were violent books like 'The Count of Monte Cristo', 'Treasure Island', 'The Three Musketeers', or 'Iron Men with Wooden Wings' witheld from our tender little minds. As someone else said, 20 years ago it was Dungeons and Dragons. 40 years ago it was tie-dye and beads. 50 years ago it was a young man's music and the way he swung his hips while singing. 70 years ago it was 'Zoot Suiters'. 90 years ago it was "what those soldiers learned in France!". All have been blamed for every sort of social ill, to include homicide rates and disregard for authority and 'good taste'. Congratulations for carrying the torch. Sullivan013 |

When I was young, I danced "the Twist" to the recordings of Chubby Checker - and some adults then said that would corrupt me and destroy the country.
Well, "The Twist" didn't destroy the country - whether I am corrupt or not is a matter of opinion. |
