Hey I have been fortunate enough to have been in the right place at the right time. I thought I would like to share a few Landscape Photos I have taken in the last few weeks. If you are of the Photog type and have a "camera" (term used loosely) take a photo of a landscape that you find particularly eye-catching. I would be interested in seeing what kind of pictures, you might come up with. Any way, here's a pic I shot on a dirt road between Ponderosa and Tetherow (both small communities) and it caught my EYE.
Post a favorite Landscape Photo of yours, I would like to see some more of America or wherever you are. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sargeant_green, Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

That is a great photo...
I like the mountains shots, they seem to show just how powerful the Earth really is. Here's a shot of Mount Washington in Oregon from Hwy 22 at about 4000 ft. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

Some great shots Peace. I love those saguaro cacti. Looks like the Tehachapi pass in the California pics. Those "Texas After Rita" shots are powerful as well.
Lilliebear, if you get a photobucket.com account, you can post the photos there. "Copy" the "URL" or "address" of the photo you want to show, then go back to the Military.com website window, go to the thread, then click on "reply" and get that window you will find a button that looks like a photo, it is the second one from the right end. Click on that and then paste the URL or address of the picture to the that small drop-down window. Click OK and your photo should appear in the thread when it refreshes the screen. GOOD LUCK! Great shots Lilliebear. Glad you could get the photobucket thing going OK.
Great shot with the seagull in there with the lighthouse. Love that Lookout Mountain. I may get to visit there again some time. The pictures are so big because your camera takes a large aspect photo using a greater number of pixels, i.e. 6 megapixels would provide you with a large crisp photo. Photobucket has a feature that allows you to upload the picture in a smaller aspect. You would have to look around that page, I've seen it before. Sargeant Green,
The Salton Sea looks like I would like to build a house there. (Keep dreaming). Great Pic. This thread has probably lowered my blood pressure. |

Actually Doc I got that little piece of property from my Mom. She bought it many years ago and since then the State of California has made an expansive State park next to the property. I have some friends from long ago and some from not so long ago who with me are getting together and we're going to put some houses up. I hope to develop some parabolic solar energy since the sun is abundant there. Of course the sailboat will be in close proximity. A lot of people don't know but this is the largest lake in the State.
I may be wrong but I think if you check out the real estate prices there you might be surprised. The land is not valuable in terms of the current average market. My objective is to have somewhere to stay warm when winter hit's Oregon and work on my Solar projects. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

A really great part of living in this country is the views from the Interstate. On a clear day this is the view from Interstate 84 going east through Troutdale. Some of the truck drivers know this view.

Heck Persy, here's some more of the good ol' USA.
This is a shot of Mission Bay in San Diego. That's a Russian sub in the background. Here's another sub pic this one is American and in Portland. Crossing the Columbia river on the train bridge. I-5 Bridge can be seen upriver. Here's one I know you can appreciate. The downtown shopping district. I can have a lot of fun taking my daughters into this place. Smith-Burney falls in Northern California Here's one of Mt. Hood from about the 8-9000 foot level How about the backwoods of North Carolina Talk about seeing America! This is one with the statue of my favorite American Hero. "Nathanael Greene" in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mt, Lassen In Northern California. Mt. Lassen erupted in 1914-15 or somewhere therabouts. It is the only other volcano in the lower 48 states to erupt besides Mt. St. Helens in 1980, during the tenure of the USA. Please excuse the lump on that rock. Gee Persy, I hope that gave you a good "America Fix", for now. Maybe some others will continue to post pics of America so you can enjoy it from afar. Hey, if you don't have a current pic go out and shoot one. Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |
