Well since we've had "Favorite Classic Movie Quotes" how 'bout this.....If you had to pick ONE song as your All Time Favorite..What would it be.....To be fair, I'll start. Mine's Easy:

"Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones....

Duane A. Brinson Key West, Fl.
U.S.M.C. 1985-1989

"In the face of terrorism and murder; the call for peace is NOT patriotic, it's COWARDICE"

Tough choice since there's just so many different tunes and artists that I enjoy but I'm going to have to go with "The Story In Your Eyes" by the Moody Blues.

In that today, September 30th is our 49 wedding anniversary, I will have to stick to what has been "our song,"

The Twelfth of Never by Nat King Cole.

A listening ear, a caring heart, an open mind and an extended hand may be all I can offer, but it is yours without charge or Judgment.

OK, we're on a roll, we gotta have at least one torch song. I heard this in an old movie, can't remember what (male) actor sang it, but his rendition is better than most.

quote:

Whether you are here or yonder
Whether you are false or true
Whether you remain or wander
I'm growing fonder of you
Even though your friends forsake you
Even though you don't succeed
Wouldn't I be glad to take you
Give you the break you need

More than you know
More than you know
Man of my heart, I love you so
Lately I find
You're on my mind
More than you know
Whether you're right, whether you're wrong
Man of my heart, I'll string along
You need me so
More than you'll ever know
Loving you the way that I do
There's nothing I can do about it
Loving may be all you can give
But honey, I can't live without it
Oh how I'd cry, oh how I'd cry
If you got tired, and said goodbye
More than I'd show
More than youd ever know.

This is Barbra Streisand's version:

There is no such thing as a bad Lynerd Synerd tune so I have to stick two together "Just Gimme Three Steps/They Call Me The Breeze" I used to follow an old Biker band who used to roll from one right into the next and the promised me they would play it at my wake.

Hard to make a decision since I like so many types of music ,but one that can put me back into a time and place is PIANO MAN by Billy Joel. It was always the song that got played at our parties at a friends house in Norfolk (and we had a lot of them). A room full of people all swinging their beers and glasses in unison, as a rowdy drinking song. Some great times that existed for awhile but alas all things come to an end (sort of like Camelot).

Great times , good friends

Totally easy question.

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven,

A fantastic tune but a b***h for the bass player (at least it was for me).

What, you want to know my Number two?

Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water, Also a fantastic tune and a lot of fun to play on bass.

You're right, but there is such a thing as a bad spelling of Lynyrd Skynyrd! Razz

Songs kind of come & go as to what is the top one, but way up there for me is Neil Young, Like a Hurricane. That song rocks!

Good song, lyrics kind of fit the current times:
I'm frightened for our children that the life we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for, has turned to rain
