Some years ago congress did not want to bring up the subject for their annual pay raise (COLA?), so a bill was passed so that their raise would be automatic. There will be no COLA for anybody, to include Disabled Veterans. I have not received any response from either Republican minority leaders nor Democratic majority leaders if they are going to be with us or laugh all the way to the bank with their pay raise.

Just recently the subject was brought up that our government is going to give senior citizens $250 because of the "No COLA" issue.

Compare this to $8 billion to ACORN, $4300 for "clunkers", $2 billion to Brazil having to do with George Soros, $1 Trillion for a health care bill that is touted as being so spectactular that our politicians can hardly wait "to not sign up for it."

The politicians remind us that the $250 "vote buying" endeavor will add to the National Debt, but they fail to mention one iota about what really is adding to our National Debt as well as Budget Deficit. Does "pork barrel, giving money to our enemies, two wars that no other nation is paying for except us ring a bell?

The "leaders" of this nation are treating the citizens of this country worse than what is flushed down the toilet, and we are more concerned with blaming the other party. We are in denial and unless we do something the insanity of our politicians will continue.

A man who was seeing a mental health worker stated that he had great concerns about how his "friends" were taking advantage of him. They would only be nice to him when they wanted something from him. But when he was in need of someone to talk to, some one to listen to him or if he needed a few dollars before payday they would ignore him and go away.
The mental health worker, in no uncertain terms, explained to him that "people treat you like Shiat because you allow them to."
Well folks we are treated like Shiat by our politicians because we allow them to.
We are out here fighting over whose fault it is for our problems, more interested in bad mouthing the other party and thinking only about our party being in the majority come next election.
Is what is going on in the best interest of this country? Semper Fidelis. Blackcoat.

No surprise there, Congress will always take care of themselves. They couldn't care less about the constituents.

Congress and the Senate should be payed by the hour, a 40 hour week, work shifts, 3 shifts, Day's, Swing and Graveyard. They still should be elected, they should be on a probationary period of 90 days like most of us, if they don't cut it...they would be fired.

They would have medical and dental coverage, but at 75% like the rest of us. They should have two weeks paid vacation for 10 years. Three weeks after 15 years. 3 weeks paid vacation, be that would be the maximum paid vacation.

They would not retire at full salary paid for by the tax payers. They could participate in a 401K.

If they don't like that they can quit the job. They don't have to apply for the job if they don't like it.

There will be mandatory retirement at age 65!

Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what you've been up to!

If congesspersons don't show up for sessions they should have their pay docked, same for when they're running for reelection or election to a higher office.
I sure as heck wouldn't pay, or probably even employ, anyone who was looking for another job.

It is high time to go back to a citizen legislature, get rid of "professional politicians" the ultimate welfare class.

Seniors who have probably done more for this country are relegated to $250.00 of hush money, while congress gives themselves several thousands of dollars in raises...on top of the secret special interest group money they already receive...disgraceful...

I will place in savings for my grandsons so that they can pay it back to the Chinese we are borrowing it from. Too bad we can't vote on our own raises.

"This DOES NOT surprise me"!

"I've done so much for so little all my life.......Why change now?"

Maybe if those POLITICIANS in D.C. would get "OFF THEIR DEAD-AZZ's" and see what PEOPLE in the "REAL WORLD" are doing for a living, then it might make a difference!

Until then it will always be "Business as USUAL" "STATUS-QUO"

Again, the American public was "Lied to by another D.C. politician" What can/are we going to do about it......"Nothing!" "Even the HEAD HONCHO lied to US just to get in office!" He said and I QUOTE......."I will make change in Washington D.C.!" Really? Under who's and what rules? Accountability.......Applies to EVERYONE on this earth, except POLITICIANS!

"Our constitution should read......We the people with NO-BACKBONE......."

Be fair Ron, you know if you get an inheritance, you are required to use it as planned by the inheritor, there is no option but to follow through by the inheritee. Its somewhere in the Constitution.

I think there would be a high number of good candidates who would serve for a predefined term/s with no pay except for basic expenses. We as a people are honest and wish the best for our country. In truth, some of the new congressional members probably have these ideals. Then the power aspect comes in and they are corrupted. Ergo, term limits. What is happening, GWG and I agree on something.
