I have just seen a couple of trailers for the new Star trek movie coming out next spring in may. I think it looks great. Been to the forums for Star Trek, seems to be some people upset it not staying true to the original story line. I don't care, it's a refreshing look to an old tv show. Beer

Is this legal?
I don't know,but its fun isn't?!

Good pic GWG! Not only do you get a starship, but look at the dark cloud over the building and tower. It resembles a bird of prey.

I think Kirk may be using a walker in that one. What is he now...like 88 or something?

Star Trek (2009) Synopsis:

quote:
Explores the early Starfleet careers of future Enterprise officers Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), McCoy (Karl Urban), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekhov (Anton Yelchin). A Romulan, Nero (Eric Bana), and a much older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) are influences, as well as Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood), the second captain of the USS Enterprise.

I thought Pike was the first captain?

The first Commander of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) was Captain Robert April, followed by Captain Christopher Pike (Original Pilot "The Cage {recut and renamed The Menagerie}"), and then Captain James Tiberius Kirk!

Maybe! Wink

That may well end up being just another "Production title!"

Oh, wait! "Of Gods and Men" was a 2007 direct to (Low Budget) Video production which takes place after Kirk is swept away by "The Nexus Wave!"

I've not seen that one!

Although there is nothing like the original series, Each incarnation of the Star Trek saga has it's own merit. I'm looking forward to the new movie.
It will be interesting to see what they do with all of the modern effects available. I have the entire original series, in a collector's edition. It's really rather impressive, what Gene did with the shoe-string budget forced upon him by the network. Funny, in a way, but still pretty darned good! Wink

Doc is it the set from 'Columbia House'?
I have TOS and TNG complete sets on VHS.
I pull 'em out and have a mini marathon when I'm snowed in.
