I remember her. Unbelievably brave and devoted. How could such a person be forgotten for so long ? I realize Global warming is of significant importance but what was the Nobel Peace Prize Committee thinking when they passed Irena Sender up for Al Gore ? This is not the only time there has been controversy about the committee’s choice.

A truly amazing woman and a true humanitarian. What fortitude and courage it must have taken to sneak those children right under the noses of the N A Z I guards. A terrible shame that Al Gore's scam slideshow topped her for the Nobel Prize.

Wow.....68 reads and only one or two responses? You people too young to remember the scourge of what Germany tried to do to the world and what they considered "Die untermensch" during the 1930's and 1940's?

I guess when you pick the PC agenda over a lady that saved many people, when some say that it never happened. So what do you expect them to do.....When most of the world do not like Jews.. do you expecpt them to give a prize to someone that saved them..DUH

That, my friend is a statement in and of itself and a sad representation of how this world has treated the downtrodden. Jews did not ask to be Jews, nor did Gypsies ask to be what they were, etc. The absolute arrogance of the N A Z I's in their attempts to eradicate entire races is contemptible and unjustifiable and completely justified in the eyes of the world's courts when the Jewish people insisted on hunting down missing N A Z I senior officers to put them on trial for their crimes against humanity. I am glad that justice was served and Ihate that it took so long to happen in some cases, but then, you have to admire the perserverance of the Jewish people in not giving up the hunt until justice had been served. Never, ever again!

Irena Sendler risked her life to save he lives of children. She was passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize so that crock and bull server Al Gore could get it.

What an injustice.

Al Gore is a jerk that couldn't even get the Presidential Nomination..No way would have i accepted the award if I was him..If I believe right the award also pays $100,000 dollars..That could have been used to help a lot of people..Al Gore surely didn't need the money.. MissU2, I watched the video's they really touched me, I'll have to admit I don't remember her or hearing of her. But I have now!!! personally I think something more should be done to keep her and her story alive. Thank You

The story is here and we have proven we can keep any story or subject alive. Veterans do not forget sacrifices. As for the Holocaust deniers(Mel Gibson et al) let them take a walk through any of the former camps, they'll get the feeling and the message. Maybe Al Gore needed the 100 grand to keep up with his food budget.

I,m responding so I am not one of those readers you were referring to .
I have not even seen the video but know the name because of books my gma. collected (christian) and pbs.
As for age nahhh. lol I also know this name because of a 3 part report my 4 TH GRDR. DID on the holocost. which included this ladys name in a paragraph. her teacher cried and her principal posted in his office (jewish).
She also knows we are allowed to "not like" the symbol for nazis in any way EVER no exceptions.
As fore the prize al who? As for the guy mentioned as a person who does,nt beleive in ???

As for her she probably does,nt care about the prize and would share it with a long list of folks that in little ways and big did something in those yrs to save a few "just because". you don,t have to look far really. I have them in my own family.
I have a dear freind (r.i.p.) that was a child of parents who were fron the mts. in europe who were jewish and him also and his whole life he and his family even as americans saw themselves as very similar to the american indians that story would make good novel ,so I will leave it to the imag. as to why.

The reason most people have not heard of her is that real heros don't talk up their accomplishments or bragg about it..Like I said Global Warming is part of nature and it is like poop, " It Happens"..I'm sure that polution and other things may have caused some of the Global Warming, but look at History and past weather patterns..Al Gore is still a jerk, like he was doing a book report or a show and tell for a school project..We are not going to be able to stop Global Warming or even slow it down..God controls the weather and our lives, so what happens is Gods will..Larry
